Thanks for uploading- is this from the re - release with extras from about 5 years ago ? Although " I'm a Shocktrooper , in a Stupor " is a much better line ,that captures the essential humour of the early years .

Yeah, I cut the 2016 bonus track in with the normal version. I also prefer the "shocktrooper" version, but this is more like how they played it live.

Was at this show… a very solid performance- particularly the Warren Zevon encore. Most surreal part was the NH staties rocking back and forth on their heels in front of the stage wreathed in a cloud of weed smoke…

There were soooooooo many concert goers that were hauled off by the cops during this concert. The show was mainly floor attebdance with a few rows of seats taken on the back and sides. Normally, at Rupp, during that era it eas packrd and cops didnt really bother too many people. That night...free reign. People were just up dancing and enjoying themselves and theyd get picked up and escorted out, and um assumimng to the pokey.

Saw them 2 nights later, 5/7/78 at the RPI Fieldhouse in Troy NY, as we were preparing to graduate from SUNYA. Like this show, 78 was vintage GD. RPI Fieldhouse was packed to the rafters and hot as hell. Still, nothing like a GD show!

My first show was the Syracuse show. I was standing dead center leaning on rail. Bob and Donna right above me. You could see through Donna’s dress and this was when she and Weir were having a torrid affair right in front of Keith who was oblivious or not. But that night in Syracuse it was front and center and the sexual tension and electricity was screaming. Cold not miss it. I turned to my friend and said Bob and Donna are f-ing! He said no way. 5 min later he said, damn you’re right! This was not corroborated for me until Garcia an American Life was published. And yes my enhanced perception was heightened by some little pice of paper I’d eaten earlier.

Thanks for uploading this. Good sound :) i went to dartmouth, we had a solid crew of deadheads - wish i was there but it was before my time. Love the setlist, ive imagined what the band would have thought of it. The alumni magazine published personal accounts of those that organized and crewed the show in the current issue, lucky dogs

I absolutely love this Dark Star. Jerry's busted string gives everyone else a chance to shine, and they do just that. TC sounds like an old 1950s science fiction show on some old b&w tv.....
