Your teaching skill isn't upto the mark at all. You are just reading through without explaining a single thing. Even we can read sentences from slide. Not useful at all.

Page 647 knebelite (Min) = A silicate of manganese and ferrous iron, in the olivine series. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic system and occurs as the result of metamorphism and metasomatism.

Matura diamonds (Min) = Colourless (fired) zircons from Ceylon, which on account of their brilliancy are useful as germstones. A misleading name.

Hello. Thank you for this video, you have explained olivine very well. Best resource on the web I have found yet. ( You should make more videos about minerals, you seem to know your stuff. I have a few specimens I would like to show you, I believe your expertise can help me identify clearly what I am looking at. If you have an email address, I would love to send you pictures that you can add on your future olivine videos. Peace and blessings.

So I'm trying to i.d. a possible meteorite , is there an earth based olivine that matches the cosmic ones ? Do the meteorite ones match exactly or is something off the charts , different , grossly different ? Also , I might buy a laser , hoping to spot olivine in a stream bad , does peridot glow or phosphorise ? Flash tiny rainbows ? When energised by intense light ? Any hints ? Tricks an tips ?
