I had just recently discovered Nightwish and Children of Bodom right before Nightwish did their Nemo tour. I bought concert tickets based on the fact it was those two bands. Evergrey opened up for them and yes, I bought a Nightwish shirt, but I ALSO bought this album. Fell in love with these guys and man, what a show that was. From all three bands.

One of the best metal bands out there!! great music, great voice, good songwriting. Love this album Recreation day!! And In Search of Truth is also brilliant!!

Best albums they ever made, Everything after the inner circle was disappointing and a constant of stuff I did not like. The raw passion was gone. Voice became more and more normal, becoming more like Jorn Lande, cleaner voice and less dynamic in the songs. The dreaded feel of endless pain and hopelessness was not there anymore. But I am happy I got their first 5 amazing albums! With Search of truth and recreation day being absolute masterpieces!

First song from their last great album. After this it was a straight fall down to rock bottom instantly. First 5 albums are amazing, with Sear of truth and recreation day being absolute masterpieces! The intense darkness, desperation and hoarse raspyness of the passion in the vocals during this era was just heartcrushing!

Finally I can see why this album (which is my second favorite of the band) has such CREEPY audio quality. The studio was very poor. Unfortunately the capture of that track can never be done again :(

Sometimes I just think that they are the best band on the planet. All their music speaks to me on a spiritual level. The sheer aggression and beauty of all their music has no equal.

@@roxanne1987r Lots of great bands out there playing the same style of music but I have never had one sound like Evergrey. Kind of like a Van Halen or a Pink Floyd. No one sounds like them that I have run across yet. Definitely lots of kick ass bands doing it though.

I'm totally onboard with op here. but the band will often release an overly dramatic song and it just throws me off. It's like, all that sheer power is just being wasted on moaning around. This song is one of the few that slaps more than it moans.

I saw this song on TV very late one night in between programs back in 2004 I walked out just a sec before the credits and missed the band name and title .Damn it I could've been a fan years 18 years ago. Thankfully I found this in 2019 and now a fan for life!
