Hi, I’m a Figma novice and have been asked to take a guidelines project done in Figma, and recreate as an editable Google slides deck. The video above is a great guide, however the multi-section Figma file appears to have been laid out in one big workspace, not in slides (that appear to be 16:9) like in the video. Question… how can I copy the loose elements and creat a neat Google slides deck? I appreciate I may have to re-lay individual elements on slides to fit. Any advice most grateful 🙏

This video just saved my ass. Boss said to copy frame asset onto iPhone background. "Oh you just copy paste." Low and behold, the iFrame is a square and was overlapping the bezel curve of the iPhone model. Using the corner tool I was able to adjust the square frame to fit snugly within the curved bezel of the iPhone model. Sheesh.

I think the diagramming possibilities of Figma are severely underpowered. All the plugins I tried were a crutch at best. So far, I came to the conclusion that I would rather avoid doing any diagraming in Figma. Otherwise it is a great tool.

To be honest it is better to do so in Figjam or using another dedicated tool. I think plugins are great at complimenting, but I don’t know why it is not natively supported.

None of the plugins worked out for me. Either it is not free or 3D (washed out screens) or no Android Device available 🙄 The last one would be amazing but if you want to have straight, flat image it is distorted.

Little bit difficult to understand now Figmas been updated, got lost just after adding the varient, and couldn't find how to switch between the two buttons when it was put on the art board. Still learnt a lot though, thanks

Hmm I don’t think there’s a way, although I might be wrong. I place videos in mockups using Photoshop and smart objects, which then I can export as gif or mp4 - but both of those formats need to have a background color.

@@AlbertoOrsini I found a solution. When you render video you need to change formtat to: Quick time and Alpha Channel to: None and press rendor button. Than you will have phone mockup with transparent background. The only problem that such files gets exported in really big weight... Tried to compress such video mockups bet than when you compress it, the black background will appear again.. So here is an idea for your youtube channel :D you can tri to export mockup with transparent background and maybe you will find solution how to compress such video with smaller sizing ;)

This is great because I can see how it might be useful for creating mind maps. It’s a pity you can’t move the arrows when you move the boxes, but that’s a big ask. I think it might be doable in D3

Could you mean when you move the boxes and the arrows follow the new position? That you can do while the plugin is open, although in my experience doesn’t work 100% of the time.

@@AlbertoOrsini Ooh, I’ll give it a go then. In a way it doesn’t matter because if you’re mind mapping properly you could just do the boxes, move them around and then do the arrows, and that would help with the thought process, but having them moving would make it more tactile.
