I have a hard time believing Finn was a cynic grifter for the first year or two of his work. But there's a reason I started to stop watching his stuff after those years. I got tired of his pompous attitude and acting like he was above the gatekeepers he seemed to be like. It was non verbal but there was something that wasn't sitting right about him for the past few years. He seemed to be sucked into the KZbin thing and resented it the whole time.

Never cheated before in my life, and very easily could've. Apparently people have no self control? It's pretty easy to stop yourself from doing it, it's not something that happens within 2sec, you know what you're going to do & have plenty of time to stop yourself. Good people, people who aren't weak willed, stop themselves at the temptation stage. "Welcome to being an adult," seriously? No, that's more like a teenager's mindset, not an adult's.

I really am confused on why anyone cares what Finn does. so a guy with a KZbin channel that none of y’all liked and complained about all the time quit KZbin and you’re more more upset with him for quitting then you are kept going? Like I could understand it saying he doesn’t really like music anymore and he’s leaving KZbin would cause you to be audited or you have to go to prison for two years because he quit KZbin or if they were going to drain your bank account over it, but since none of those things are happening, I don’t know why we have to make a big deal about it. I failed to see how this affects anybody in anyway. This kind of feels like crying for the sake of crying.

Then i started hearing shit about how bad his wife was and I don't think decent people marry people that hateful. Not to mention "Punk Rock MBA" as a title is sus af from the start, and when he describes what it means to him it just gets worse.

@@MrKingkz hell, i enjoy all sorts of music and i love punk, i love ska and it just so happens 2 of my favourite genres also have a relatively popular fusion genre. i do think the trumpets can be kind of dumb and forced a lot of the time in ska punk, but when executed properly it sounds great. i think ska just sounds good as a fusion, i am a musician and my favourite way to play ska grooves is on banjo. if you don't think ska punk sounds like ska, i don't know what to say to you since ska punk is using the offbeat that ALL ska uses alongside distorted guitars. my point is that there is literally no limit of what you can do with ska. despite your opinion of distaste towards ska punk, i would still hold some sort of respect for it as it brought so many people (such as me, a french canadian) to become ska fans and discover the original stuff. as for the pronunciation, words change pronunciation depending on your accent and language (shocker), when i speak french i say /skʌ/, in spanish /eˈska/ and in english of course /skɑ/, it's not just a genre jamaicans love and listen to, it's an international genre therefore it will have unique pronunciations. sorry for the larger rant, i have a lot to say about ska punk lol.

@uriurw8630 I think my anger comes from how white washed it became and how most not all but most don't even know who a Prince Buster is my grandad started playing ska in the late 50s early 60s he died penniless in England many of the OG ska musicians died penniless whiles bands like less then jake and real big fish make bank on a walterd down rip off so for me it's very hard to take ska punk seriously personally I have always called it punk with horns it will never be ska and like I said most don't even pronounce it properly there is no R it's an a sound like ra

finn is a perfect example of a fragile ego. he calls himself "the punk rock MBA" and whines about "the left". his body language alone tells that he is lying in that interview and he probably just couldnt handle getting constantly ratio'd. but that all still equals $$$$ for someone like finn .

Hot take: I don’t buy that Finn was always a grifter when it came to music. He was making punk zines a good 10-20 years before he started his channel and he’s got band tattoos, so for him to flip turn and say “I never liked music/I was only in it for money” seems like total cope to me. If it is true, we’re talking about a guy who’s been so committed to grifting music that he got tattoos and has been doing it since he was a fucking teenager. There’s no way in hell anyone could go with a grift that long without getting burned out way before hand. Most likely what really happened is that he started his channel with sincerity, at some point lost the passion, became more interested in numbers and subs, got burnt out from the grind (also because he sucks at handling criticism), and now he’s so burnt out that he’s going scorched earth because he doesn’t want to deal with it anymore. If anything that makes him something even worse than a grifter: He’s just a fucking asshole.

He just made money off music fans then called musicians stupid for making less money than LinkedIn users with 10k followers. Truly is Finn McCunty. I been waiting for this post. I think it might come from more of a place of bitterness because I really don't for a second believe that he does not care about music, it clearly seems like he does. But maybe this KZbin thing wasn't going that well for him in other ways especially with all of the heat he was getting. It seems like a desperate attempt to leave the scene with what he probably perceives as a power play. But it made him look like a giant crybaby instead and I sure hope that this tantrum of his was worth it when he is driving listening to whatever shitty hardcore music he listens to.
