The tab holds the cover to the body - without that tab the cover no longer attaches correctly to the body. The issue is in the button itself which is intermittent or requires very hard pressing. If there is a fix for that it would be good.

I bought the 42" this past summer (July) and had a similar issue with the adapter plate. I somehow hit a piece of rebar that was sticking up a fraction of an inch too far, and it bent the mower blade and broke the adapter plate. That's what it's there for, so good enough. Except there were NONE for sale anywhere, and their terrible parts provider said it would be December before they would have any more. Then a couple weeks later, two showed up out of the blue. They should just throw a couple in with the mower when new! I also bought a Ryobi 2 stage snow blower and it came with 4 extra shear bolts - same idea. I have 2 X 80V batteries and 2 X 40V batteries and it won't cut my 2 1/2 acres in one go. They claim 3 acres with that one. To be fair, my property is very rough, and I have to go over it on the slowest drive mode. I also run the blades on slow, which I heard extends battery life. Running them on high to extend battery life doesn't make sense. Frankly, I can't sit in the chair as long as the batteries last, the terrain is too rough. I do have a small patch of real grass and it zooms through that. The joy stick takes getting used to, and there are still times when I wish I had a proper steering wheel, like when going next to a flower bed with metal edging. It's just really hard to keep a really straight line. Going back and forth in open space I have not found to be a big deal, only next to something you don't want to hit with the blades. I also have the Brinly-Hardy snow plow made for this mower. It is a real pain to install, but actually works pretty well with tire chains. The torque of the electric drive motors provides plenty of grunt up to about 6" of snow.

Finally got my 4MM Jacoje Franco chain just today and in time for Christmas! 🎄 You are so correct how stunning it looks in person. It is so perfect! I’m going to cherish it forever. 😃🔥
I can kinda see the reason for the beeping, if someone walks away and leaves the system on it will drain the batteries over time. My riding mower (ICE) will shut off if you leave the blades engaged while you get off the machine, but with electric and the blades already stopped it's a bit different.

I have a 1 acre lawn I bought the 42-inch mower that came with the bagger boost for ($600) an option which turned out to be completely useless because when chute got clogged and I turned on the boost motor (15sec run time) it didn't clear the clog and even when it was clear it didn't pick up any grass so I returned the mower so I can buy the 54in and actually get my lawn done on 1 charge and I don't really need the bagger because the grass is cut really fine.

They have a lot of incentive to exaggerate the battery figures because most people just take their word for it.

Dane I too live in Florida near Orlando, and I’ve had the same 54 inch zero turn from Ryobi since July of 2022. So that’s two years and three months from the time of your video. I definitely like the way it’s controlled and the way it’s mowing it really does a good job in that sense. Unfortunately I’ve had several different support incidents. The charger went out at one time. Had to be replaced. The charge units on the mower itself, all of them have had to be replaced two of the 40V batteries have had to be exchanged believe it or not. Here’s the worst of them all, All 3 of the 80V batteries have been replaced twice. The first time they were different errors. This last three exchanges have been an error E5 which pretty much makes the battery useless so that’s a total of 6 x 80V batteries. If I had to pay out of pocket or been out of warranty these bad boys would be almost $900 a piece. I am so afraid of the day. My warranty runs out because Support is awesome. They are great but once warranty is out, I’ve got a big expensive $8000 brick on my hands.

I have 3 Acres and a 1998 Model Scagg.. this is end of 2024, the only issue I have had all those years is my Carb backfires when shutting down. I tried to rebuild it. Then ended up buying the Chinese one on ebay for $15 so it been backfiring for a few years now. I just purchased a new Carb have not installed it yet. But I do like Ryobi and have mostly Ryobi yard tools.

First of all - you don't have to disengage the clips on the new cylinder (they just pop right on the ball studs). Secondly, I would recommend attaching the rod end of the new cylinder first. None the less, thanks for the video and link to the part.

I just bought a used one from a guy who had the same problem I'm having. I bought it based on all the positive video reviews. The joy stick is much too stiff to control comfortably and I also don't like the fact that there is no spring return to center. It's like nobody at Ryobi has ever operated a joy stick before. The batteries last long enough for me and the cut is awesome. We usually have to sweep the yard because of clumps, but this cuts everything up in to flakes you can't even see. They really should fix the problems with the joy stick before you buy one.

Here's how to cut 4 acres with this mower. Set blade speed to low. Run at top speed of 7 mph in a straight line on even turf. Cut no more than 1-2" so as not to slow down. Don't make any turns, no overlapping cuts which lose efficiency. Batteries will supply power for a little over an hour and you'll cut about 4 acres theoretically. Real world, you get under 2 acres. Ryobi, I call bullshit!
