Any video shots of the intake port job you did with the splash zone after the races? Would like to see how they held up to the power.

I will get some footage of the heads this coming weekend to show how well the splash zone held up. I should warn you that I haven't cleaned the heads up yet as we were having a bad piston ring seal and were burning tons of oil the last time we were out. Nevertheless, you will see how well the splash zone held up. After a quick cleaning, the heads are ready to go back on the block. We are having some machine work done to open up the cylinder bores a pinch to fit our new pistons. We should be getting the motor back together by late February, early March. I will keep you posted with some new content as we get closer. Thanks for viewing and I hope I can provide more useful content for you. Have a great holiday season and as my primary organization event (ANRA) owner would say, "Let's go racing!"

@@rmsracingchannel3601seeing how it looks before cleaning it would be good content and a great before and after view. With my cylinder head project (experiment) I actually opened up a new direction of the intake port and sleeved it from the valve stem to the side of the intake port where the intake manifold gets mounted. However, after watching some of your videos you talked about how the port design should be. Sounds like it’s some kind of cone effect where the port is larger from the start and tapers down to a smaller port size at the valve seat.

@@David-tv3mg I will do the before and after video to show the difference. And, you are correct with the description of the port profile. It is a taper down to the valve seat concept. As the valve seat is your most significant restriction in your intake track. Being able to identify the different areas of the port is most often overlooked. Additionally, knowing what each area of the port should be doing is very significant. Understanding the whole process sequentially is paramount.

Did the splash zone hold up to the heat, fuel, and power? I been wanting to do some custom work on my intake port and it will involve cutting into the water jackets.
@DeeFunk526 Жыл бұрын
Yes, the splash zone holds up to the heat, fuel and power. It's important to properly prep the surface of the areas you intend to apply the splash zone. I used a spring-loaded center punch to make dimples all over the application area to give the splash zone something to grab on to. Also, clean the application area thoroughly with acetone and then isopropyl alcohol to make sure the surface is as clean as you can get it. I hope this helps. And, thanks for watching us. We'll have more coming out soon. New year and new goals. Good luck!

@@DeeFunk526thanks for the quick reply. Where are you located? I believe I heard in one of your videos that you were heading to Bakersfield.

@@David-tv3mg We are out of Ventura, California. We call Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield our home track. It's about 150 miles northeast of Ventura. Where are you out of?

@@DeeFunk526nice. I raced there only twice many years ago. I’m from Fresno Cali. I’m trying to completely re-route my intake port on my cylinder head. Have you heard of anyone being able to do that?
@DeeFunk526 Жыл бұрын
@@David-tv3mg Yes, I have. It usually involves lots of welding. I'm assuming you're trying to do this on an aluminum head. The heads you see me working on had the intake on the manifold side moved up about 1/4" to 3/8". If I were to do it again, I'd just remove the roof material and fill in the floor if needed. Are you familiar with cylinder head porting?

Are you using street gas with 10% alky or race gas 👍
@DeeFunk526 Жыл бұрын
We are using race gas. F&L Fuels SP-4. Motor seems to love it. Plus, it seems to have a longer shelf life than VP Fuels.

Thank you, Aldo. We really appreciate your support. I don't know if you ever make it out to Famoso Raceway in McFarland, California (aka. Bakersfield). But, if you do and it's for an ANRA event, be sure to come by and introduce yourself. We'd love to meet you. Meanwhile. We'll keep posting updates.

Thanks, Devin. We appreciate the like. Don't forget to hit the subscribe button as we will be uploading more and more videos as we get closer to our comeback. We've been sidelined by a lack of companies capable or even willing to work on our heads. They are most likely the last of the first generation 5" bore center Hemi 99 heads. You'd be hard pressed to find any Hemi 99 heads these days. Thanks again.
