Another thing that will cause your burner to be noisy is the hard and sharp transitions on the air intake, I would go in with a dremel and do a good heavy chamfer on your edges to assure a smooth transition

I Always Thought that was a DEUTZ F8L413 Air Cooled Diesel Engine which all the Iveco Maggie DEUTZ Trucks used to have back in the Old Magirus DEUTZ Days

Don't rap your thumb round the starting handle like that some engines if they kick backwards will brake your thumb instead rap your thumb the same way as your fingers it might sound petty but it will save your thumb .

There's only one tank, the fuel. The cup he used the pump can on is the primer, 100cc or so of oil that gets forced into the intake to promote cold starting. It pokes out of the cooling air ductwork, which kind of resembles a tank. The cap at the very top is the oil cap, in the valve cover pan. The mushroom looking thing next to the fuel tank is an oil bath air filter. Pretty much all the tank resembling parts I can think of, lol

Saw one in 1976 in 1974 freightliner cabover I walked in front of at a truck stop . Was surprised when I saw no radiator . The driver was amused , then told me all about it over coffee later 😮😊

Un hermoso recuerdo de este motor de marca Deuz, recuendo que cuando era niño mi papa tenia uno de estos wuoo con el tiempo tambien me toco a mi prenderlo, utilizan cigarrros para encender, muy buen motor trabajan dia y noche sin parar conectados el agua para su enfriamiento asi como el petroleo , despues de 48 años veo uno de estos x video me dio tantas nostalgia de ver uno de ellos. Soy Peruano pero vivo en Italia. Como me gustaria comprarlo y enviarlo a mi Pais.

Mine in greece has a smaller battery and I cold start it with some fire on the intake cus thermostart is broken

This one doesn’t have the thermostart. I think only the ones with a rotary pump have it. The line pump automatically gives extra diesel when starting. It always starts immediately now I have a new battery.

What is in the corked container. Is it just feed oil and does it have a wet oil tank.

That container is meant for coldstarts. When you fill it with oil and push the plunger back in oil wil be pushed into the intake. That way the engine will start more easily.
