I agree with so much of this; however, not on getting rid of photographs. That would be like throwing away history. Many people who are not tech savvy like our older relatives would not know how to access digital versions nor would they want to learn how. Turning the pages of photo albums where the history of our families have been preserved for future generations is like walking down memory lane & being a part of it all. I am so grateful that my Mama took photos throughout her life & created a "family tree" if you will for her family to enjoy.

Great tips. Some of them don’t actually apply to me, as I don’t cook from scratch. (No lectures please) I do like my worktops to be clean & tidy tho & when they get untidy (Usually after I’ve been food shopping) it really stresses me out. My goal for this year is to put everything away straight away after I’ve emptied my shopping trolley.

To be fairly honest, the gift paper wrappers and ribbons have saved me even after years. I'd like to find a way to store them better so that they don't get damaged.

@@livingyourlifechannel I trashed about 400 DVDs from newspapers last year. I kept only a small 20-30-piece collection of rare cinematic masterpieces that are almost impossible to find. You're absolutely right; none of these should be held on to; they're just trash. Decluttering takes time, but it's such a rewarding process. My wrapping paper exception is because I buy gifts online, and I used to work in a store, so I know how to wrap things professionally. Keeping 1 roll of ribbon, two rolls of wrapping paper in good condition, and 3-4 gift bags have been helpful in the long run. But no more than that.

These are very good rules to go by. I try not to buy every trend or popular style. Most is to expensive now so that keeps me from buying it. I only buy good quality items. The rest isn't worth my time to keep it or to waste my money buying it only to have to purchase again. 😮

Agree! Nobody wants our old stuff. People are different now! They want new things. I found nobody wants stuff. Here in Tx. People are trying to get rid of stuff, not obtain more. Our thrift stores are packed, but not many are in there buying stuff. I see lots by the road too. Showing folks are decluttering their houses now. That's wonderful! 😊

Stop suggesting donating junk to schools. Most schools don't want them and won't take them.

Make up brushes: clean them well, they become a TERRIFIC pain brush for k-classes or other children! ;) NO plastic bags please! But if you have too many reusable shopping bags, thrift stores will only be too grateful to accept them! Excess rubber bands: give them to schools, thrifts stores! Paper coffee filters: k-classes and school use them for crafting!! Holiday cards? Keep the ones you really love and that you cannot part with....display them in the Christmas tree! Unique ¨ à tout coup ¨!!! 😃helene

Don't throw out ANYTHING. Save it all because after the crash comes in late 2025 (if we're lucky enough that it holds off that long) because you can always try to sell it when you lose your job, all of your savings and your 401(k) plan or IRAs run down to essentially zero. Think I'm kidding - you aren't paying attention to what the billionaires now in total control of the Trump government intend to do to we the peons.

@@livingyourlifechannel no, its even worse than that, I'm afraid. It flakes away into tiny pieces and gets into your carpet, your lungs and your stomach. It was much better when we could use plastic bags over and over again. Reuse is better than recycle and much better than it disintegrating into everything around us.

The builders architects failed to design and build any cupboard in the house I live so I've had an extremely difficult time homing children's toys then teenage stuff then they moved out all my own stuff. I've even no cupboard for an ironing board or hoover so they are constantly on show especially the hoover
