I have an older desktop I purchased in 2016. I used it just fine up until 2020 when I got a new PC. It's still a pretty decent rig and can run some games okay. Windows 11 does not support it so after Oct 2025 it will be unsecure and eventually become useless as software like steam does not work anymore. I could probably use exploits to unnofficially install 11 but it sounds like that could be a huge headache if MS decides to withhold updates. I can use Windows 10 iot LTSC until 2027-2032 but that's not guaranteeing me that steam, chrome, etc will still support it but still I will eventually have to leave windows on that machine which would leave me with the options of throwing it out, keeping it as an old game machine for offline GOG installers and emulators, or just installing Linux which would allow me to access a large part of my steam library still and browse the web securely which is valued because I keep the old PC connected to the tv for games and watching stuff.

Most software compatible with win11 should work with win10 because both OS use the same kernel version. It may be perceived as less secure because various updates are no longer available but it's very less-likely that you are going to get hacked because of that.

@flyandacexo6852 i'm not worried about being hacked. I could just use a virtual machine for web browsing. I'm more worried about the day that will eventually come where programs like chrome will stop recieving updates which in turn effects steam because they are both based on chromium. I expect both will work on unsupported windows 10 for a few years before that happens just like windows 7. Might be based on the same kernel now but you never know when a huge update will come out that will change it. There's just so much we aren't sure of.

Nothing is forever. if it's stopped, then it's stopped. Since Win 11 shares the same Kernel as Win 10, Win 10 will be supported as long as Win 11 is supported. got it? That is till October 14, 2031. You should not be worrying about win 10 not getting supported soon. My guess, Chromium will be supported on win 10 up to 2035.

(a bot? paid by Microsoft?) This author is leading you guys down a serious vulnerability path. Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 this year. You have 3 options at this point. 1. buy a mac 2. upgrade to windows 11 3. switch to linux. Windows 10 is pretty much done. In fact i even deleted the iso's and just kept 11 iso around. There is literally no point of installing windows 10 at this point. Systems that are on 10 should stay there. Systems that are on 10 but want to upgrade to 11 but can't due to tpm requirement. That can easily be bypassed. In my software toolkit i only have 2 things. win11 iso and linuxmint iso. I use linuxmint live to fix windows issues without relying on stupid windows fixer-upper shareware software. And done. I suppose Microsoft could extend (only if you pay a fee to support beyond the due date though.)

Yes, Linux is a huge pile of trash distros. But sometimes, having digged into that pile thoroughly, you can find a couple of versions which have occasionally been made more or less stable and usable. And those rare (very rare!) pearls can ressurect those old laptops which cannot run Windows any more. So I installed Lubuntu on a 13 year old laptop. Honestly, I would like Windows to run on it, but I have no choice. As for the toxic Linux community, I just don't communicate with such people. And, of course, Windows 10 is much better than 11. Stay with Linux, you are not missed by Microsoft at all. Be deprived and be delusional, and be happy. Keep in mind that my video is only here to help you. Lenovo is not misplacing their FN key. It's intentional after years of feedback and research. FN key or function key is more important to a business orientated environment, so it has moved to the corner. But my wife got her new laptop, a recently issued Lenovo unit from her office, and thank God, the Ctrl Key is finally now 1st at the lower left corner. I am simply jealous! Calling me delusional and deprived does not help you drive your point. It was never my intention to contradict you but to show the other side of the fence. Nor was I an angry Linux nerd. I have used Windows since 1994 (i.e. starting with Windows 3.1 that loads from MS-DOS), and was quite satisfied as far as delivering my work outputs, then later with Windows 98, XP, and 7. Windows 10 is definitely great. But come 14 Oct 2025, what happens to my old hardware that is not qualified for a Windows 11 upgrade? I heard Microsoft has recently relented. But I had already installed Linux a year ahead, and my ancient laptop from around 2013 is now flying fast with Linux (Mint XFCE) occupying only a minimum of 600MB RAM upon start up.. RAM usage could have been lower had I used AntiX distro. But having switched to Linux with all its differences and limitations, I never missed any driver in Linux so far vis-a-vis my existing set of hardware. Had I been a gamer, perhaps I could have felt it. How will you realize missing the "native" MS Office installer if you never used Linux? MS issued Office installers for both Android and MacOS but not for Linux. I mentioned this because I know most work places have had Windows the past 30 years and was thinking how Linux could be as useful like MacOS as an alternative OS in the workplace. Not a big issue for now, because some Linux techies found a way to run MS Office and Windows apps within Linux, even if Linux also comes long with its free LibreOffice. This installation process seems to be seamless with Zorin OS 17.2. In fact, they too found a way to run Android apps within Linux. By the way, is it true that Windows to have allocated a subsystem to run Linux too without having to run it in a Virtual Machine? Is it true that Linux are now part of MS' Azure solutions and that Azure servers are running too in Linux? Or that MS is now using LINUX to run its Cloud? You would know better, but these are not the topics and I do not mean to state that Linux is better than MS Windows Server. Nonetheless, cheers to Windows 10 for all the years that has been! I will miss this great version of Windows whose bloatwares can still be sanitized and its desktop environment customized, at least to a limited extent.

@@flyandacexo6852 - This is a repost of the earlier reply that was deleted! My post was never meant to contradict you but merely to show the other side of the fence. But calling me deprived and delusional does not help drive your point. Did you see the many adverse reactions to your statements below? Whether or not Lenovo's FN keyboard was the intended [more important key], having been banging keyboard from the 1980s proved that I've been using more the Control Key with my Crtl+A, Crtl+C, Crtl+V, Crtl+P, etc... rather than the FN key that I used only on a few select occasions once every 2 months. My wife recently got her new Lenovo Laptop from her office and am green with envy because finally Lenovo has repositioned its Control Key to its rigthful Leftmost lower position. I've been a Windows user since its version 3.1 (that loads from MS-DOS), 95, 98, XP, 7. This is not about Microsoft not missing me just because I've switched to Linux. But what happens to my Laptop when Microsoft decommissions Windows 10 by 14 OCT 2025which does not qualify for Windows 11 update? Microsoft may have relented recently, but I already have installed Linux MINT XFCE and it runs with only 600MB of RAM upon start up. This could have been lower had I used the AntiX Linux. I am on my 8th year now using LINUX as my personal driver and has been fairly satisfied despite initial difficulties and some limitations. While Microsoft issued specific MS Office installers for both MacOS and Android, it did not provide one for Linux. No worries! Linux Techies found a work around to enable MS Office and other Win apps to run within Linux. Zorin 17.2 in fact provided the easiest way to enable MS Office to gatecrash into Linux. They also infact found a way to run Android apps into Linux. I encountered so far no driver issue and was infact surprised how it automatically loads the drivers I need and it also has a manual way to look for missing drivers. The only complaints I heard on drivers were from gamers but Linux is also catching up now on the gaming department. NVIDIA, AMD Radeon, INTEL drivers are available for Linux while ATK driver is yet unavailable. But is it true that Microsoft did enable a subsystem in Windows 11 to run LINUX? Is it true the MS's Cloud called Azure is powered by Linux and NOT by MS Windows Server, and that it runs now several Linux Solutions? You would know better! I am not claiming that Linux is far superior to Microsoft and am not an angry Linux nerd either. Cheers to Windows 10. I am sure to miss its removable bloatwares and it minimally customizable desktop.

@JoseMariadeManila-g3f It's not about FN being more important to me or anything. I don't use the FN key at all. It's more about understanding why it is what it is. It's like that because apparently, business oriented users want to use F1-F12 and the functional keys more than Ctrl+C, and Lenovo listened to its users. I can do either way. If you look closer, the ctrl key is bigger than the FN key. If you still have a problem, it’s possible to swap the key in BIOS and you can put 2 stickers over those keys, so the inconvenience actually shows that Lenovo cares about its users. I am not driving at any point, and absolutely not arguing. If you are happy with your Linux, be happy with it. If you don’t have the capacity to understand the binary swapping of 2 keys, I don’t think you have any chance of understanding something more complex, such as the Linux OS, and why it’s so bad, even though I have made 4 videos about it already. Go watch the rest or not and it’s okay for me either way. Just enjoy your deprived Linux OS. I have absolutely nothing to lose by using your Linux, but I would be very happy if you can swap back to Windows and be more productive and useful to this society. PS. I am 100% sure that all Lenovo computers are designed and created using Windows machines.

@@flyandacexo6852 - Thanks for the info that there is a way to swap the FN and Ctrl Keys in the BIOS. I would love to switch back to Windows once it goes back to "its former ways" of respecting the ownership of my Hardware.

Deprived? I have been on linux for years and i have no need to ever use windows as my primary OS ever again. Windows 7 and 10 were my last os and 11 is just horrid. That said; this video is funny lol. The thing that this video fails is that "research" and "linux" does not mix. Missing the whole point why people leave the non-free proprietary software. Also, there are key points in the video that is not true. It all boils down to the linux kernel. Modern kernels just works no matter what hardware you throw at it. If the hardware is using non-free proprietary drivers. Then you simply install that package as that is not normally be included in the kernel. Let's face it Windows 10 is pretty much done by Microsoft and Microsoft is eagerly pushing people to 11. Linux shines on older hardware if you install modern kernel. Not all kernels in distros will come with fancy stuff. Using a vanilla distro means its bare minimum. Using a modern distro with high end kernels means things will just work out of the box. Also, snaps and flatpaks and containers is a huge big game changer to ever happen to linux distros right now. run your software no matter what distro one is running. What is this 2000's again? Speaking of rabbit holes. Windows as a whole, is a rabbit hole. Every time i fire up windows on a vm just to keep up with its shenanigans. Yep. I keep being reminded why i left Windows. I have said it before; and i will say it again. Linux is not meant to compete with corporate overlords. The whole reason why alternatives exists because these corps have gone too far. Imagine a world without any kind of open source at all. And by the way; i see more open source software git repos on windows then i do on linux. How about that.

Why are you talking about middle aged Arabic people while installing drivers? As a Linux user, the only driver I'd had to install is... I think none or 1 xorg driver! A whole host of drivers come with the kernel and yet it's still a fraction of the NT kernel size. On a laptop one of my friends own (they were complaining about windows 11 being slow and heard of linux) the battery driver just worked, even on a stripped down kernel! Literally the only Linux drivers you need to install are Xorg drivers, and even then some distros ship them with their kernel. In all, don't use Windows or talk about Linux as a cult instead of a community. Plus, you can personalize Linux to however you like. Don't like your bloated oversised desktop? Get a new one! Don't like the lack of customization or RAM usage in your DE? Get a standalone WM with some tools like I did! Runs extremely fast and even has optional blur effects I can apply to a whole load of windows and I can basically customize every aspect of it. Try doing that on Windows without third party/unsupported by dev software!

So, I left a comment a few days ago but decided to look back and see what other people said. After reading through multiple comments and the seemingly random response choices of the video poster.. Their responses sound like a ChatGPT prompt or personality. Combine their oddly intense anger and weird conspiracy theorist vibe they give and how desperate they are to convince and keep people on Windows with the same desperate responses and lastly the blatantly obvious AI voice... I'm starting to feel like this is all just an AI bot lol. Maybe they're training an AI project? Idk but all their responses and approach to everything, especially crying about how much they care and helping people yet encouraging people to use Windows because it's easier when Microsoft is known for intentionally harming people whether it be it's users or it's competitors... Either this person is deranged or it's an AI. Either that or a very bored troll. Ironic and funny that they also ignore everyone calling them a Microsoft employee but are all too happy to jump to the "Linux users are a cult" messages. Which is even more ironic, the things they say sound like a person brainwashed by a cult, I have friends who escaped from cults and they would flag on this persons responses so incredibly fast if I showed them lol. I'm inclined to assume this person is also a flat earthed at this rate lol.
