That’s the way!

This is how fiddle tunes were passed down from generation to generation. Totally by ear. 'Old Time' tunes often lasted for 10-20 verses so the new comers had a chance to learn it, and the dancers had something to dance to. When the fiddle player decides it has gone on long enough they used to lift one foot in the air to let everyne else know it was time to stop.

The farm house where this jam session took place was originally built in 1770. Great vibes for a music session like this.
