So you are a teenager, living normal suburban life post Millennium. Friends, studies, sports, parties, all the normal stuff… a normal life. Then, for an unknown reason, you fall into deep, persistent depression. Not the normal moody teenager bout with insecurity and self esteem, but a severe feeling of disassociation, lack of energy, lack of interest in most everything. You don’t get over it, it goes on and on, it interferes with daily life and causes pain for both you and all those around you. Symptoms appear that interfere with your ability to work, sleep, study, eat, and enjoy life. You lose friends, drop out of most activities, your family doesn’t understand, and you start to lose hope. Thoughts of suicide surface, and then start to dominate your life. It might be the end, but you seek help and slowly fight your way through. It is more than just a battle; it’s a war, a War of Existence.
