Way back in 1969 I was on my way to Vietnam on a 707 Jet. We had to stop at Guam for fuel and food and when we flew over the island my first first thought was that we would need a bigger place to land.

Which route is it? My guess the Island Hopper or GUM🇺🇲-MNL🇵🇭. In the case of Guam to Manila you can actually listen to the air traffic control since UA B737-800s might have from the flight deck enabled

Seat Map wise this Guam based B737-800 is exactly the same seat layout as the Newark, NJ based versions although you lose the US-based T-Mobile wifi after Agana, GU

Someone please give this city a new airport terminal!

Looking at the B737-824s the Guam based ones use the same seats as their EWR based counterparts. Another possibility is having the original GUM based aircraft replaced by a B737 Max 8 that's original assigned to EWR and transferred to Guam

This flight was the same one I went for a connected flight from Saipan to Phoniex. We layover at Guam and flight 117 was the same plane we rode to layover at Guam.

Nice video! Out of interest, do you know what PAL's policy is with larger cabin bags on the Dash-8... are they just gate-checked as you're walking to board the aircraft? (That said, I guess these are the Next-Gen Q400s with bigger overhead bins, so I'll probably be okay...)

I'm glad United changed from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3. Terminal 3 has more amenities...more restaurant choices, and the new Wings mini hotel /sleepover area.

As of now my wife, mother in law and I will be taking the same flight to save money. Flying out of LAX on PAL is $1,500 USD but flying from LAX - HNL-GUM-MNL is only about $800 USD with a total travel time of about 21 hours. Flying nonstop on PAL is around 15 hours and to pay an extra $700 to save only 6 hours of travel time isn't worth it to me. It's nice to see so we will know what to expect on the flight. Thank you for the video. Looking forward to going back to the Philippines in Silang, Cavite. Hopefully Taal won't erupt this time when we're in the Philippines like it did last time. I have done this flight on cebu pacific to tacloban and what a beautiful place tacloban city is I loved my time there already planning to come back
