It's a shame perch numbers are so low. Their numbers were much higher on Lake Michigan after the 78 & 81 stockings, but after commercial overfishing ~89-1992 are now basically gone. Same with Green Bay, a few left but nothing like it used to be, even as late as 2005 after just 4 years of the commercial limit being 20,000 lbs./yr, but at 100,000 lbs. per year, it hurts the perch too much. Appreciate the perch fishing while you still have it. Check out the LM_YellowPerchHarvestTables from the DNR for what the sport harvest used to be.
@CNCoutdoors9 күн бұрын
@@donaldwalker308 honestly i think it’s on a pretty good comeback right now. It’s definitely not as good as it was in the 80s from the pictures I’ve seen and story’s I’ve been told. Anglers limits being 100 and 50 during those times didn’t help either. I think the Green Bay system is very well balanced with the walleye, perch, and Muskie right now. The perch fishing on Green Bay the passed 5 years has been very good to me

@CNCoutdoors12 күн бұрын
@@dankrupp321 thanks! If your going to run the Scotty rod holders like mine, i would suggest getting the brocraft bases. The original plastic alumatrac bases are very weak. www.amazon.com/dp/B07D1P1YQV?linkCode=spc&tag=christanenahl-20&domainId=influencer&asc_contentid=amzn1.ideas.2C529UJK38SW4

Thanks for the response. I do have the brocraft brackets. As a mater of fact, I have the brocraft rod holders too. They work fine for walleyes, but I was concerned that setup isn't beefy enough for 20+ lb salmon.

@@dankrupp321 no problem! I personally haven’t had a problem with that set up. But i would definitely make sure you have your drag set right every time for salmon. You want them to be able to pull drag when they hit
