Absolutely love these campers. Biggest problem, they are designed in Australia. They don’t have bears. Your food storage and prep next to where you sleep and your kids in a soft tent on the ground next to the food. Glacier NP has restricted soft campers already this season due to grizzly activity. Just be aware. My thoughts are to utilize a portable electric “bear fence” to go around the perimeter , but those have shown to not be a deterrent in some cases.
@TandTOverland Жыл бұрын
They are great campers. And there are restrictions for tent campers in many areas. I know that people with Patriot Campers have gone to Alaska with no problems. But you have to be comfortable in your own camper. When we were in Glacier, grizzlies we’re sharing the trails with hikers.
@Rescue-mt7fl Жыл бұрын
@@TandTOverland just because there were no problems doesn’t mean there is no problem. Keeping food away from where you sleep is a precaution in bear territory for a reason.

@@Rescue-mt7fl You have to make your own decision about how and where you camp.
@Rescue-mt7fl Жыл бұрын
@@TandTOverland of course you do. But you still need to make that decision informed. Cooking and storing your food where you sleep in grizzly country is stupid. Someone makes that mistake every year and pays for it. Yet many get away with it. It’s called normalization of deviance. But you do you. Just know you may be restricted at some national parks.

There is no perfect trailer…it is always a give and take (bigger = more room, but also more weight, etc) and depends on what exactly you want it for (super off road camping, just easy campground use, etc).

It really does depend on what meets your needs.

@@TandTOverland that's true but there never seems to be a middle ground which i feel like is missing a huge camping demographic. i live in alaska and i want something that isnt going to leak or rot with a good heater that will last years. as far as all the extra i could easily do without. just seems like your options are essentially a very poorly made option orrrr the nicest available. id be willing to bet if u made something near the middle, they would sell like hot cakes especially in a Biden economy. pop ups are still very popular up here even though they are pretty awful in any weather condition but they are small light and affordable. keep it up guys looks like you make an excellent product

There's so much emphasis on set-up time. But, the more I research off road trailers with tent systems, it seems like the take-down is actually the more complicated and time consuming part. The set up time for the X3 is fairly comparable to the X1H, but from what I am seeing the pack up is quite a bit longer than the X1H. What are you finding is the actual set-up and take-down time, now that you have had the X1H for a while? Thanks for the insights!
@TandTOverland Жыл бұрын
What takes the most time to set up is the annex. The tent sets up fairly quickly, about the same as the X3. But the X3 is harder to open and close.
@built2last409 Жыл бұрын
My question is about the putting them away. The pack-up. Seems like the pack up on all these systems is more complicated than the set up.

That’s the entire issue I have with so many of those accessories. For example, instant no poles awning are fantastic but you need fait weather and no wind: once it rains , starts blowing ….. you either can’t use it or spend hours setting it up. (And forget about the size of side panels )
