Apparently the series is just hussies feelings toward himself and the whole rise of the Homestuck fandom. Z is pretty much how he felt during the whole thing : started out making a silly thing to express himself, it ballooned into something he wanted no part of, so he dipped out. Really interesting that this is how he dealt with that fiasco.

It's a metanarrative that was spun out from how Andrew Hussie viewed the pandemic and 2020. There is a lot of drawn parallels from the story to IRL. Plus De Clussy really likes clowns for some reason.

I haven't read the comics in a long time or really bother touching the remains of the fandom since I left it but I'll forever still enjoy a lot of the Pesterquest and Hiveswap ost unironically.
