There are theories about the hero sword : -some said demons are just human's problem so the sword wont budge -some said the sword is for the time where a world ending threat appear -some made the legend because the creator of hero sword was a legendary blacksmith while actually its just a normal sword -some said that the sword just "stuck" and cant be removed -and some said himmel was already a legendary hero and the sword wont budge because it prob said "nah bro youre good without me"

Himmel is a hero, but not the hero that can use the sword. Himmel defeated the demon lord means theirs an enemy and a hero purposely for the sword. Himmel is the hero that will be lookup by the Sword Hero to defeat his own enemy. My opinion only

I love the possible implication here, as the sword is meant to be pulled to save mankind. But in the eyes of whatever powers may be, the Demon king was not that threat. It was just another conflict, like many before, as we’ve seen with Kraft (the male elf monk) who is also likely to have lived since the mythical era. Just another short blip in history, to be forgotten, just as Kraft was, as the only sign we even see of his heroics is worn, old statue, reminiscent of the ones Himmel had made. And surely, there will be conflict again. Perhaps just another blip in history, or perhaps the dire hour where the prophecy comes true, and someone does pull it. Perhaps, if they fight, grow, and learn as we humans do, we just might not need the sword, that dire hour will never come, and all of humanity, just like Himmel, never needed it.

It would have been even more inspiring if his legend included that fact. He didn't beat the demon king because it was his fate or he had been chosen. He just decided to take on that duty, even knowing he wasn't the fated hero

rewatched this video 100 times and always stopped at the scene at 1:25..... I don't know why, but this set of shots where everyone is shown one by one and some element of this nature with this music combines perfectly and makes me so sad for some reason.... but now I've also noticed the symbolism of this scene. Himmel goes first - the first to die, Haiter is slightly behind him, but not far away either... Then slowly goes Aizen and only Friren stands still.... This scene shows the passage of time for each of them, while they all move forward, Friren can only stand still and watch them as they walk away from her....
