I love this, but why do you need to use the transfer paper? What happens if you just use the pastels on the gel plate image?

You could do that. Some people, like me, can't draw very well. I'm using it as a template.

@@LeAndraKayArt Thanks for getting back to me,LeAndra….but if you can give me the name and model# I can look it up, and tell you what you’ve got…because there’s not very many makers these days using actual pigment ink anymore in their standard, except perhaps using it in their black cartridges for better darks in their photo-based printers…again,thanks for replying.

@@chriscarroll277 My printer is a Canon PIXMA MG7520 and it uses PGI-250XL and CLI-251ZL I hope this helps. I can't figure out if that means dye or ink based.
@chriscarroll277Ай бұрын
@@LeAndraKayArt Just came off Canon site…Yeah, yours is those combos I talked about, the PGI-250 is pigment ink, the ClI-251 inks are dye based…all are ink, but inks from dyes are a lot cheaper to produce for manufacturers,hence hybrids came along when they discovered still using a pigment ink gave a less fugitive ink result( ie longer lasting prints than using dye ink ) in photos after printing,and truer blacks …..the distinction is important in some applications, as I found to my dismay using some methods I followed from other YT artists…since you used the pigment black, I’ll check it out…thanks!

Will this technique work on Rice/mulberry paper? Can these prints be decoupaged?
@LeAndraKayArt2 ай бұрын
Yes, they will work on rice paper. For decoupage you will want to roll out some gel medium on your plate and lift the gel medium with your print to seal them because these inks will smear without being sealed.
