Hate to say it but there's no such thing as "ADHD". If you take care of your body and mind it will settle down, but most of all it is unresolved trauma. Ritalin isn't what people think it is - it numbs your brain and is a serious health risk. It quickly ruined my life two years ago. Please don't take it. You will regret it. If you have unresolved trauma and are because of it anxious and stressed - a brain doesn't work well under stress - that is what you need to focus on. To relax yourself, and perhaps adjust your expectations of yourself. Maybe you don't have to be this great high achiever at the moment and need to relax and enjoy life in order for your body to settle down. Surround yourself with good people and good things. Edit: There isn't any real proof of ADHD. Just look at how the studies are carried out. The drugs are dangerous too - multiple studies have suggested as much, but no real in depth lonterm human studies have been carried out. People don't care enough about "crazies". It's a scandal.
@AndrewSimonBregman4 ай бұрын
This is Dr Gabor Mates theory. There is no question if ADHD is “real” because there is a very specific group of behaviors that go together. What do you think about PET scans literally showing less blood flow in certain brain areas? That it would change if your trauma would resolve…?
@TheDavveponken4 ай бұрын
@@AndrewSimonBregman those set of "symptoms" are vague and general to people in distress or otherwise stressed. Furthermore there are larger differences between individuals (within groups with or without than there are between the two groups). A "perfectly normal person" may exhibit the same brain as a person "with" "ADHD". And yes, Why wouldn't it? There are changes in the brain pertaining to stress. ANYONE could be diagnosed with "adhd", the prerequisite is they set foot in a psychiatrists Office. It is a vague and dumb diagnosis that only serves to gaslight individuals about their experiences. It is seriously toxic. And their drugs too. They cause emotional blunting, indifference and MAKE IT HARDER TO CONCENTRATE and hinders flexibility. If it were true that the drugs adress the illness that would mean regular people are slow, inflexible and indifferent - that is not normal. Please don't take it.

@@TheDavveponken I’m sorry to hear that. It’s important to remember that everyone’s biochemistry is different and that drugs affect everyone differently. In my experience, I am very different than most people. I am specifically different in classic ways that ADHD presents. Because of its large prevalence in the populous, I’m not convinced it’s trauma driven. I personally subscribe to the evolutionary hunter idea, that it was useful to have someone with ADHD in your tribe back in the day. Stimulant medications do work very well for many people, but I would just really advocate for trying all the holistic things first. Eating clean foods, good sleep, very vigorous exercise, therapy, and meditation, and only then if you can’t seem to find joy and inner peace consider a drug

@@Swizzi7 well, I’m struggling with this now as I’m, on most days, trying to be fully unmedicated and rely on exercise diet and meditation instead. I’m in a transitory period now in my life as I even stopped taking an antidepressant I’ve been on for 4 years, so just trying to be mindful of that fact too. Ultimately, what’s helped the most is simply questioning why I’m doing what I am and what the goal is. I’m lucky enough that to be free, I don’t have any obligations like a mortgage or kids forcing me to live or work a particular way. And so even though I feel overwhelmed at times, when I’m mindful of that fact I can go down this path of question and remember that I’m aiming at creating a business machine that runs without my input. And that is always very motivating to me, because ultimately I know it won’t make itself, and I know there’s a finish line that isn’t crazy far away. in the past the adderall has taken care of that overwhelming feeling truthfully, but as I talked about it came at a price. I would turn into the hulk by the end of the day, I’d get irritated very easily and I don’t know if the trade off was worth it. I try to be rational about it, just aiming my life in a direction I care for and being mindful of the real impact and results I see.

I don't know if I would even call it a mindset, it's just reality, isn't it? We have a limited amount of time on Earth, and whatever you choose to not do, someone will gladly do it for you. If you are ok with that is your choice. If you are ok with someone else building the business you want, marrying the woman you want, taking microsteps towards the life that you want because you actively chose not to, this is simply your choice. We spend our lives making choices, that is true of everyone, regardless of their upbringing or life circumstances. The way in which we react and respond to our environment is something we have great control over, perhaps barring people with serious mental disorders.
