@@YouDidWhatWithYourWiener Yes, there's those. I can't remember any particular sounds when we backyard camped, but I DO remember the neighbors' porch light being on all night. That was a little annoying.

Oh, yeah, menstrual pads are a great idea for wound care! This is just my little day-hiking first aid kit. I'll post about my backpacking and car first aid kits later. My dogs are small, but I probably carry more for my small dogs that most people do for their big dogs. Ha, ha.

My first Dachshund was black and tan 🙂 I'm on my 4th of my own, but I Dachshund sit, sometimes for 6 weeks at a time, so it's like I've owned a bunch of them already 🤣

Yes, she did. She returned to the hiking life. She's 14 now, and aches and pains are starting to get to her, but she can still walk and hike for a few miles.

​@YouDidWhatWithYourWiener that's the best news. So happy she recovered and is still with you. We have 3 Dachys (7yr, 2yr and 21weeks) plus a 14year Old English Sheepdog (obviously the little one boss him around). He's now showing signs of aches, pains and muscle wastage in back legs so we have been doing daily physio with him to relieve as much stiffness and pain as possible. It definitely helps. He still loves his walks but sadly we can no longer hike like we used to.....I have the little ones to join me hiking..take care and have many more happy hikes with Gretel.

@@YouDidWhatWithYourWiener hi again. We are relatively new to fostering dachshunds, having now had 3 in our home over the last 6 months! We are on a hiatus at the moment due to me having back surgery in early December 2023! We will pick up our fostering hats again in February 2024 and look forward to having more little souls in our home.
