@@kreativkay we took local herbs so it luckily wasn’t so bad. But we definitely had trouble sleeping and walking around was a lot harder than normal 😅

TBH the taxi driver and the British guy were being dramatic (and sadly many people says the same), as in any city of the world, you just have to be cautious all the time, and avoid certain places (specially at night) but it’s not a “dangerous” city at all.. And you missed Huaca del Sol y la Luna as well as the Cao Museum (which is about an hour north), a walk by Huanchaco (eating a fresh delicious cebiche), and just walk around all the historic centre admiring is beautiful facades and very unique windows 😊

I agree, the historic center was really beautiful 💕 all the people I met and the food we tried were lovely as well! After 3 warnings, I just chose to take it easy. There was also a state of emergency declared about a month before our trip so we were a bit spooked 😅 Maybe I’ll see Huaca del Sol y la Luna next time I’m in Peru 😌

Pretty video. You did miss out, though. Huaca de Sol y Luna has really colorful ruins. A bus ride out to Huanchaco would have been good, too! Trujillo and Huanchaco are not Hawaiian resort towns, but really nice anyway. The odds of being a victim of gun violence seems unlikely. People on motorbikes snatching phones and stuff seems like about the worst crime to happen. Long distance bus rides in Peru are nice and pretty inexpensive. Even the ones going through the mountains, though a little scary, the scenery is much better than from the air.

I think the museum at el centro at the Botero statues would have been a much better choice than the modern art museum. The modern art museum leaves much to be desired. El Castillo would have been a nice place to visit also. You got alot in the four days there for sure. i couldnt make it to the top of the rock either my legs said no. No place like Medellin.

It is! They just aren’t supported by any agency so there is a suggested tip of about 30000 pesos(less than $10). Hope you have a fun time ❤️

Hello, yes I know. I just hadn’t experienced being told what to tip as if it were the airport’s rate. Being visitors, we felt pressured by his “uniform”. There were other parts of the encounter that were sketchy that I just didn’t include but it was definitely a lesson learned. Thanks for watching , I loved my time there as well! 💗

@@Omololasodyssey I learned my place as a woman while in Cartagena... and I've discovered it's not battling luggage. 🤭😁 I tripped and fell instead of giving my luggage to the bell hop 🤦🏽♀️😂 Now I just show up with tips for my luggage in hand. ☺️ There is so much beauty in Colombia to see, I plan on going back soon. Thank you so much! ☺ I loved the loft style as well. The building was actually an apartment building called 'Pentstudio' and I rented an airbnb from it. Google 'PenStudio_Luxury_5stars_WESTLAKE_By Ascott' and the airbnb should pop up. Although, I would recommend staying closer to or in the old quarter if you can! ❤
