Thank you for this, I'm attempting to fix mine after a friend replaced the window glass. Subsquently he snapped the curved plastic runner that the cable fits in just before it attaches to the handle inside. With your assistance I managed to get the door card off and actually see what is going on. I've used Araldite to fix it, I'm waiting on it to cure. If it doesn't hold I'll have to buy a new one and attempt a full replacement. I would love to have seen exactly how you got the door handle out of the panel. Too late now, unless you fancy taking it all apart again for me?? LOL

Hi friends, at least here in the US, SC430s do not have a transmission fluid dipstick. I believe Mr. Blackbeard may be extracting engine oil. Please check out clublexus SC430 forum for proper instructions.

Thank You B/B . I'm at an age where my knees and back simply can't do things they used to . This showed me how my "friendly local mechanic" is doing the old "cactus-up-botty" routine on me re my SC430 that I've had for a few years . What other dodgy deeds is he up to ? ? Pastures anew methinks . Thanks again . Subscribed .

This has now happened to me twice. The handle snapped exactly as yours so I got a new one and fitted it (proper pain in the arse job). It seemed to be working fine, opening the door easily but then the handle snapped exactly the same again - they seem to be very easy to break (no strength at all?). It's going in for a MOT retest in a couple of days (failed on the ball joints and track rod end ball joints) and this has happened in while I've been fixing it. It's an MOT fail so I'm going to try your temporary fix with the tie wraps and hopefully they'll pass it?
@BlackbeardsDetailing27 күн бұрын
Fingers crossed it works. Use the thickest zip tie you can find as a few days of use it snapped. When I changed the handle I cleaned out all the old grease from the locking and handle mechanism and regreased it and it worked nice and smooth.

I know I'm being meticulous. But if you place your presssure washer on the concrete ground, then submerge it into the water sitting in the bucket to fill/foam up the water, you run the risk of transferring tiny bits of grit from the ground into the bucket then subsequently onto the car via the sponge? Great content otherwise. Thanks.
@BlackbeardsDetailing27 күн бұрын
Absolutely agree, we have now got a little foam pad we rest the end of the nozzle on to make sure it won't pick up anything from the ground 👍🏻

What’s the difference between G1 and G5? Thanks.
@BlackbeardsDetailing2 ай бұрын
Hi, Longevity and ease of application are the main differences. G1 will outlast G5 many times over but requires more attention on application and a curing time of 12 hours vs 2 for G5. I have found that G5 does however give a lower speed run off vs G1, around 30mph against 40mph on the G1 so if you do a lot of city driving it may be better to go with G5.
