Are there foreign nurses who have managed to get into CRNA program?
@nursebaebritt11 күн бұрын
I would believe so, yes. It comes down to meeting the program requirements for the school of interest.

In 2024, in Michigan at least, theres adn and bsn nurses who make the same. The only difference is that some bsn nurses are still paying student loans and adn nurses have little to no loans plus can get tuition reimbursemnet or tuition fully paid to get their BSN from their job.
@nursebaebrittАй бұрын
There’s tuition reimbursement for BSN, MSN, & DNP as well. Tuition reimbursement is not specific to one degree or specialty. It’s more so dependent on what the institution offers to employees who are choosing to further their education. In regard to pay, your earning potential is higher with a BSN because of the jobs beyond the beside you would qualify for. For example, transitioning into management, CRNA school, & NP school. Student loans have everything to do with the borrower and nothing to do with ADN vs BSN. Thanks for watching the video.

Hi , thanks for sharing such very important information. I also want to work in ICU as RN to qualify for CRNA school. I graduate in December 2024 and currently I work part time in medical ICU some times Neuro and trauma ICU as patient care technician. I had also preceptorship in cardiac ICU. I would be so pleased if you provide me the steps to follow to apply for ICU jobs as a new grad RN. If you can, would you also mention the names of hospitals that you recommend for the best ICU experience? I am happy to share my email if that sounds good to you. Thanks again
@nursebaebrittАй бұрын
Hello, congratulations in advance! As far as steps for applying to work in the ICU it is usually the same for most places. You search for a RN position or new grad residency for critical care under the careers tab of the hospital’s website. I recommend teaching hospitals as a new nurse. If you don’t know whether a hospital is a teaching facility then I suggest asking the recruiter or ask during the interview.
@TibeNoahАй бұрын
@@nursebaebritt thanks for answering my question. But I heard that some hospitals hire new grads and some not for ICU jobs. I would love to know the hospitals that hire new grads for ICU. Thanks again 🙏
@nursebaebrittАй бұрын
That is true some places. I can’t give you an accurate list of all the hospitals that hire new grads in their ICU because not only have I not worked at every hospital but sometimes hiring practices also change. I would suggest doing some research on the hospitals in your area. You could always reach out to a recruiter as well. When in doubt, just apply.

I also meant to ask if anyone one of them had to retake any classes. I know they both mentioned it has been awhile since they were in school but I wonder if some of the programs have expirations on certain courses, specially science classes
@nursebaebritt7 ай бұрын
None of them had to retake any courses due to previous classes being too old. Zhane opted to retake a couple classes because she wanted to boost her GPA and show that she can excel in graduate level work. Mario has two degrees already, one being a MSN, so his path was different.

What’s the lowest acuity icu based on your experience?
@nursebaebritt7 ай бұрын
That is hard to say because it honestly depends on what type of patients and diagnoses each ICU treats. That varies from hospital to hospital. However, I would say the highest acuity patients are in CVICUs that have high volume cases, do transplants, and accept every cardiac support device.

CRNAs can do pain management and also do blocks and OB outside of the OR
@nursebaebritt10 ай бұрын
Yes that is true. There are several overlapping roles when it comes to Advanced Practice Providers. However, there are some differences as well. Choosing CRNA or NP is a very individual-specific decision.

Thank you for your advices! Very valuable! But there are some very unfair treatments and rude behaviors from some instructors like sending you "home" for not completing all of the due homework! We had to stay up late the previous night to complete some assignments e.g. care plans and then to wake up very early the following day to be at the clinical sites. No time to relax at all!! Bear that in mind!

I just recently got out of the hospital for a burst appendix I was in PICU for 3 weeks and then I ended up transferred to the adult unit for about 3 days then that Sunday of that same week I was transferred back to the PICU for the remainder of my stay because I had my shunt tube on the outside of me so that last week that I was in the hospital I was in the PICU I spent my birthday in the PICU this was back in September of this year. My nurses that I had went above and beyond what was expected they brought me in cake and balloons and a card signed by most of the nurses that I had.
