Thanks so much for posting, it's amazing to me the places I've been able to visit in my 'winter years' thanks to drone technology and the efforts of those like yourself... One can only imagine what it was like hundreds of years ago when a group of people found this location and the elders decided that this is where we will build our home...

I've studied these features on google earth in recent years but have never visited them...Thanks so much for posting this. Seems like a few of those openings could be 'dammed up' to create some catch basins for runoff, easy to say, I know water laws are a can of worms...

I am constructing a video of the missing escarpment material as is somewhat evident at 4:01 (+/-) in your vid. I captured extensive footage in May of this year and will post in the coming weeks. The missing rock material is about an eighth of a mile long, 100' high and perhaps 150 thick...a huge amount of rock...that can't be found on either side or in any direction. This may be significant evidence of an extreme flood of enormous proportions; the 'Younger Dryas Impact' hypothesis comes to mind as a possible explanation.

I love it here in the Grand Valley!! It is so beautiful!!!
Beyond sad. The slide ran across the ranch that had been the childhood home of my Mother. Two of the deceased were from the family that bought the ranch from my Grandmother and Uncle.

WOW wow wow! Second post of your's I've seen and both are STUNNING! Thank you for taking us there - for those of us who have prob just driven by on I-70 if that's close by - I'll have to look up Mt. Garfield = yep that's where I thought it was! Would love to see more of the mesa colors and cliffs in the area. Best, from west of Denver!

Makes you realize how we should not complain about travel in a heated, air conditioned, CarPlay, connected, smooth riding car that can do 50 mph in the mountains with ease. Folks always reminisce about the good old days without considering just how harsh survival was for the people. Beautiful cliffs and valley shots. Thanks for taking time to post this landscape.

Awesome - Thank you for posting this amazing waterfall. Great shots and I had no idea there was a natural "bridge" in there. Rugged country!

Very nicely done. This landslide has mesmerized me for years. I appreciate the geographic overview and your patience on the camera pan/tilt. You had some long distance flights with significant altitude gain.

nice work... an Idea for ya, following the Amtrak thru the canyon near Black Rocks on the Colorado River .... or tracking a dirt bike rider over some of trails in Rabbit valley would be cool.

Nice Video...loved the music and how you followed the people up. Hey about 15 years ago, I accidentally dropped my Casio Exilim water proof camera over the edge near the Flag. I imagine its still there at the base of the first drop. Its a red camera, so might be easy to see if your up there again.....and are able to recover it, I'll give you 100.00. I live in GJ....and have a channel on youtube as well.

Had a little trouble finding "Bull Draw" until I saw it marked Bull Canyon on Google Maps. The big "cave" directly behind your campsite looks like it has a visible gash, or is it a shadow, about 25 feet back from the rim, I was wondering if it was maybe a natural bridge...?? Anyhow, enjoyed seeing another close up of another Colorado nook I haven't had the pleasure of seeing in real life. Thank you for your efforts.

Thanks again for your effort, it's wonderful to see these place from the view point of a hawk, something that was far in the distance future back in my day. I do believe the climate in that entire SW "canyon lands" region was much more temperate up to about a thousand years ago with year round running creeks and springs, more trees, grass, and wildlife. What a maze of canyons one sees when studying on Google Earth, and to those who lived back then, what a limited perspective one would have on the ground.

Amazing to soar over this landscape and see it like countless thousands of hawks and eagles have over the past centuries. Had a little trouble pin pointing the location on GE until I read your description more carefully and went south of Kannah Creek. Thanks again for your efforts, it's a pleasure to watch.

Grand Mesa is cool enough to be made into a National Park, but that would surely ruin it. Truly one of Colorado's gems, of which there is no shortage... From all the tracks it looks like a favorite place to crank on powerful snowmobiles, like dry lakes were to the early California hot rodders. I'm really enjoying your efforts and your extensive descriptions. May I suggest doing the Lands End Road, I went up it back in the '70s when they were clearing brush by pulling a length of heavy anchor chain between two bulldozers. Another area that's seems interesting is that NW rim area going north to Chalk Mountain... Thanks again for your efforts.

Much fun pin pointing your work on GE, could see you operated from the trail head. Studying the mesa rim is VERY interesting, one can see the almost countless historic landslides that formed the walls of the mesa, the ones reaching down to Hwy 50 between Whitewater and Delta are especially clear. Where ever there is a lake near the rim, it seems to me, to be a location where one of the next slides will probably take place. Your video description is great, the note about roads is spot on and I would add that a great many cities and towns across the continent are built on sites that were used by Native Americans for centuries. I believe the "failed" Dominquez - Escalante Expedition of 1776 to find a "safe" trade route from the Santa Fe region to the new missions of SoCal, was the first to get in your area, crossing the Grand Mesa on the eastern side...Fantastic history and more interesting than any movies... When the Spanish Trail "route" was established, it cut across to the south and up through the Moab area. It is staggering to contemplate the difficulties those "tough as nails" people endured. Thanks again for your effort.

I've been through this canyon a number of times in my life, always on the way or coming from Grand Mesa, I never gave it any thought because my destination was more important. It's beautiful seeing it from a hawk's eye view and pin pointing the locations on Google Earth, the arch was fairly easy to find. Thank you for your effort and sharing this little bit of Colorado I've never payed any attention to before.

Ela is an arch, not a natural bridge. A natural bridge has perennial water flowing underneath it.

It's wonderful in my old age to see drone views like this of places I first visited as far back as the 1950s. Oh the joy of riding motorcycles west through Glenwood Canyon before I-70, turning up Plateau Creek Canyon and visiting Grand Mesa the first time... The cabin remains were hard to find on Google earth, I could see them on westbound street view but about gave up until I went up the slope a bit. Thank you for your effort, and including the historical information...You know, about 10 or 20 years ago the was a big landslide on the north rim of eastern Grand Mesa about 21 miles SE of De Beque and 6 miles SE of Colbran, might make an interesting drone video...Once you study it, it's easy to follow around the Grand Mesa rim and see many great landslides of the past, interesting stuff.

That landslide in Collbran was the next thing I was planning on filming! Thanks for the kind words!

I like how you explained the "Grand River", something not many are aware of...Grand Lake, Granby, "TheGrand Circle", and of course where the name came from, The Grand Canyon...Grand Junction itself isn't "the most scenic" spot, but it sure is the hub of an amazing region. Sometimes I wish I had moved out there back in the '70s/'80s when it was somewhat depressed, but I was to deeply involved in something "cool" back in the Denver area...I enjoy your videos and hope you branch out with more, like the rim areas of Grand Mesa, the La Sal Mountains, 141 south of Gateway, and the Delores River canyon going N from Gateway...All amazing country...Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the video, I grew up in that neighborhood in the 70s & 80s. It brings up alot of memories. The railroad bridge is the original. The Highway 50 bridge has been replaced. Orchard Mesa in the old days was awesome.

The video description was very interesting/educational, the video was STUNNING, and the music was BEAUTIFUL. The first time I saw that canyon was over 40 years ago on the return from my second "Grand Circle" motorcycle trip. Coming from Naturita past the (now gone) huge Uranium Mill at Uravan and down the canyon, it was magical, maybe one car every 5 miles. When we got to Gateway, there were only a couple buildings and the cottonwood trees were covered with silk caterpiller nests. At the time I had no idea what I was riding through, just another route I'd never been on before, but forever etched in my mind. Thanks for posting.

I'm loving your videos. It's staggering the number of ruins in the Greater 4 corners region, it must have been much more lush back in the day before the climate changes that apparently caused them to "close up shop".

SPECTACULAR, I first visited Colorado National Monument in the 1950s, my first canyon experience. I never dreamed that in my old age, I'd get to see it from the view point of the great birds I would watch soaring overhead... Thanks for posting.

Great little video, have never explored "back behind" the Colorado National Monument, getting to Moab was more important. In studying that area on Google Earth it appears that there is much of interest...can't help wondering how many birds have dived under that arch just for kicks...Thanks for posting.

It looks like I'm subscriber number 40, it should be 40K...As an old timer here in Colorado (since 1950) I've been by this area many times over the decades and have always looked up at those eroded slopes and the "hill climb" paths on many of them, and marveled at the heights some riders attained. When I started watching this video, I tried to locate your path on Google Maps, and failing switched to Google Earth and found it right away. It's wonderful visiting/seeing places like this in my old age, that I've been so close to so many times in my life. I've been enjoying Google Earth for over 15 years, but these YT channels with 4K drone views are taking it to a level beyond anything I could have dreamed of back in the decades when National Geographic Magazine was "our window to the world"... Thank you so much for your effort and maybe check out "ItchyBoots" for world travel, and "GravityKnightFlying" for more local stuff that you may enjoy...
