Wow, I really appreciated your presentation. We got to see the raw yard, you walked us through the explanation and reasons in orange paint, then you showed us the project at a speed that could be enjoyed but also not too lengthy. And the final project; WOW.well done!

Hello! Tell me, how do you calculate the speed of water movement through a swamp filter? Is it possible to calculate the pump power knowing the volume of the swamp filter? Thanks!
@niagarawaterscapes10 күн бұрын
Hi there, it is not about the power of your pump but the amount of water in motion that dictates the size of your basin. John Adams from Modern Design Aquascapimg has a great video on it.

This is the best pond I have ever seen.

I’m about to do something similar in New York. I’m ripping out my in-ground pool and tying it into my existing pond and wetlands. I notice you filled in the pool area with fill. Was that done for access? In my case I think I may have to fill everything in and start from scratch. On a side note….Aquascape’s corporate is very reluctant to support my project. They tell me the scope of my rec pond is not even close to a DIY project. I think it’s close to 60,000 gallons when complete.

We backfilled for two reasons. One, for access like you said and two, we wanted to shape the pond in a natural way. Sounds like a massive project. I'd definitely consult an expert in your area before starting!

Thank you! Actually, not 100% sure exactly what they are. I know one was a pine. And I think the rest were Maples
