Unplug the USB cable because the usb plug has priority on the charging pad.and won't charge at this manner...

Dude literally said its "hard to do" when he had to turn his phone sideways... lol this is the MMI PRIME. The MMI PRO os available now. Edit: Not having a touch screen is really not as bad as this guy is making it out to be. This dude lives life glass half empty for sure.

I think the 2014 and up have the touch pad on the idrive controller so you can just write with your finger what numbers you want to enter. Like a laptop mouse or ps5 controller.

I use an old Galaxy S20 purely for the purpose of connected app and have no issues. Fits nicely and charges wirelessly ok. I personally like my phone in my pocket.

so far all the issues mentioned appear to be apples issues and not bimmer tech's as bimmer tech is mearly running apples carplay or android auto, and the screen mirror issue is simple because it is a screen mirror so what ever is happening on your phone is what you will see on the screen of your BMW.

Markus my iPhone 11 charges fine , however I think the wireless charging technology changed after the 11 From Qi to Mag Safe and I don’t think our arts support Mag Safe , if someone more tech competent than me then please let me know but this is my understanding why it doesn’t work on models later than 11 … which is a bugger if you want to upgrade your phone. Next option is to use cable from USB port inside compartment but need to get one with a 90degree bend to fit well and the phone has to be smaller Like a iPhone 15

Amen! I realized this in the first ride and just hardwired. I use a wunderlich phone mount because the bmw app is overbearing if you’re using a mesh headset and overall useless. Why not just equip the bike with Apple car play and the android equivalent. Heck I’ll pay $200 for the upgrade. A major technology fail on an otherwise beautiful riding machine.

Yup, ive a 1250rt brand new and i cant get my apple14+ to fit properly and cant connect a lead to charge and the difficulty getting it back out...tried using my phone in my breast pocket and used to blue tooth to connect but my phone was hot cos it was blue toothing to the bike, i stopped using it...

Just use the charging cable. Might be an Apple thing. Gave up on Apple years ago. Have no problem charging my Android.

I have the same problem and have been hoping for 2 years that there is a solution. First the LED appears green and then it flashes yellow and no longer charges. Tested with iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro. My BMW dealer thinks it is a licence problem between BMW and Apple. The reason is Apple's MagSafe, which is why older devices work. This is incomprehensible to me as the iPhone can also be charged with cheap charging cradles without any problems. I find it cheeky of BMW to sell a motorbike with additional options and conceal the fact that it doesn't work with new iPhones! If I find a solution, I'll post it in the comments.

The stock windshield just looks wrong! Almost like they intentionally cut a vee notch so you would have to pay for the BMW touring windshield which I assume is mega expensive? If so that is just shameful IMO ...I had to replace the screen on my MT-10 for the same reason forking $250 out to Yamaha for the privlege

This is a paid advertisement. don't trust !!! This scooter has many quality, warranty and customer service problems. The fact that it is not sold on Amazon is more than indicative of all the problems. I bought one more than a year ago and more than 90% of the time it has had all kinds of problems, it hasn't turned on for 5 months and I'm still waiting for a serious response from this company.

I do still like it but Im looking to finally upgrade at some point,probs not for a few years though actually. So by then itll be the 1300RT I guess 😊. But yeah,I do like the 1250. I dont mind the display but I wish it was a little intergrated better,I mean it really does look like a smart phone/tablet stuck on the front. I do dials like the 1200RT had and Im not against the all digi display but yeah,as I said,wish it was intergrated a little better,or finished/fitted in better,you know what I mean Im sure. But what do you think?

Love the bike. I recently purchased the top case, and I did end up getting the primer version to have it painted to match my bike. My question is for the back rest I see you have to drill the two holes in the painted panel to hold it on. Is this literally all that holds it on? I can't imagine you would drill into the box itself, but I wanted to be sure.

Sorry to see you found out the hard way, like I did. I solved my issues, I traded down to a 2020 1250 :) (no TFT etc). All problems solved, still love it.

Just turn the phone around so the top of the phone is nearest to you. My iPhone 11 wont charge if I put it into the cubbyhole top first but works fine bottom in first. It’s obviously something to do with the position of the charging induction loops.

20 years ago almost all the BMWs came standard with luggage

My iPhone 12 was doing the exact same thing. What seems to work is to close the compartment door while the light is blinking orange. If you wait a minute or two and open it, you’ll see that it’s now green and charging.
