@@LizJin I haven't read the book, I came to your review to see if I wanted to read it and have decided against reading it. The publishers, the press and the stars push books depending on "what's the flavor of the month". I have no intentions of reading Where the Crawdad's Sing either. It's all entertainment. If you have time to kill then it's perfectly fine. I don't particularly want to spend reading about a man trapped in a hotel with rosy sentences. All I'm saying is take it for what it is - entertainment - and stop trying to make out like it's life changing. I have read a lot of books including classics and not one has been life changing. We live in a world full of hyperbole and sensationalism where even the messengers (youtubers) are trying to push their "subscribe to my channel" agenda by trying to exaggerate things to make things interesting.
