It's a great overview, but your vector explanations are terrible. If you go to time 5:32 and add everything up, you don't get 269 lbf. On the left-hand side, it adds up to 435.5. On the right-hand side, it adds up to 356.3. Rx = 435.5 - 356.3 = 79.2. Seems like you may have made some of the same mistakes that you criticized your students about. Prove me wrong. are you sure that pump has to be located below the water level? I think the reason why the result is negative is because you take the center of the pump shaft as the reference level.

There's a typo in the slide when you solve for the velocity. Instead of the boundary conditions y(0)=0 and y(h)=0, they should be u(0)=0 and u(h)=0.
