Um, isles won 4 cups and nyr have 1...only cause of luck and messier. Isles is legendary cause they were true expansion team, unlike vegas...they were awful. And in 75 beat nyr in ot at msg...I was there...79 Davidson nyr won..then isles 4 in a row. The isles nyr rivalry was biggest during cup Years.

@@georgebrennan2576 what you say is correct. But u do need a touch of luck sometimes to win. 94 Rangers was a stacked team with great players and so were the Icelanders back then.

@marktoken6052 1940....most didn't even have tvs then. At least yankees have a tradition that carried on....the Mets didn't take the area by storm. Crazy, rangers had 4 hall of famers...70s...couldn't win. Flyers , mint, Boston, isles...all did. Even further, who is best ranger forward that was drafted and played majority of his career with them? Rod Gilbert? Every team has had stats drafted or played entire careers with one team. Sakic, clarke, bossy, Yzerman, crosby, dinner, statsny, laflauer....best ranger is a defenseman...Leetch. chic Makita, hull, esposito, orr, Montreal has richard n more...Detroit howe...nyr rod gilbert...lord...double chili night at coliseum bs rangers..dave Maloney was there . Go watch yankees ....

Very good tournament but the weakest team (Finland)...They learned pretty well because they match us now...Orr was fantastic on one leg and finish first scorer. My best goal is Orr against Czechoslovakia in final. He begin close to his goalie and all trough the defense of czek goalie , he scored a famous goal. I'm proud to saw him at his best and stay for me the GOAT far behind Gretzky and all the others...

Two great series comebacks for the ages, BUT pretty pathetic that they could only muster 1 GOAL in the entire Anaheim series. I know Giguere was amazing in those playoffs, but that's just ridiculous. The Canucks would have scored more than 1 goal against the Ducks had they made it. The 2003 playoffs were so bizarre.
