I cannot express how much it pisses me off that this is presented by Bushnell. I worked for them for 5 years 2010 - 2015, and I spent my first year working there asking about starting a competition rifle team. We sold binos, rifle scopes, slings, holsters, laser Range finders, etc. After a year, I was told to stop asking since one of the board members is strictly anti-2A and will never let the company have anything to do with firearms. This same board member was trying to discontinue all firearm-related products. Now, they're putting on rifle competitions. It just pisses me off.

I was excited to hear about a relatively new hunter-oriented rifle competition called NRL Hunter. I must admit disappointment that this competition doesn't resemble actual hunting scenarios or use common hunting equipment. What was displayed in this video was little more than mobile benchrest shooting in a field. Seems like field positions and marksmanship skills have been replaced with crutches of various form factors. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong. It's just kinda strange as I've lived in and hunted the Rocky Mountains for over 30 years and never came across anyone packing a tripod and shooting bags, never mind an 11 to 16 pound hunting rifle. 😆 Usually, folks are reserving that payload capacity for water, snacks, clothing, and carrying out the meat.

Put the sling on the other side of your arm. for a linear pull into your shoulder not pulling to the side. as well as no need for a sling while standing. As per the USMC shooting manual.

The 2nd shooter or Clint Adams was using a tripod as support. At the begining of the video you were clear that tripods were NOT allowed on the stage so, why was he using a tripod? TIA
