I'm a longtime Buccaneers fan who grew up in the '80s and I despise Hugh Culverhouse for screwing Jackson over like that. Jackson should've helped us rise from the league's basement, but Culverhouse had to Culverhouse. This kind of mess is why I don't miss him, especially after some other mess that I found out about him in Urinating Tree's video about his time with the franchise.

@George-bk5tp, Culverhouse told Bo that it the NCAA said it was Okay for him to take the trip to Tampa during his baseball season. After being ruled ineligible by the NCAA to finish his senior baseball year, Bo was upset. He then told the Buccaneers if you draft me you’re going to lose that draft pick. That’s why Bo played pro baseball first.

@@terrancethomas9792 Google search a pewter report story titled Bo Knows He's Still Bitter With Culverhouse. Read the comments from Hugh Culverhouse's son Hugh Jr. The Bucs did check with SEC and the NCAA and said if it was a mistake it was clearly an honest mistake. They weren't out to screw Bo over. Ultimately it was Bo's responsibility to find out prior to visiting Tampa whether it violated NCAA rules. If he trusted Hugh then he got what he deserved.

That last comment from Tom: "Let's hope in 30 yrs when we're doing a final salute to Raymond James Stadium that we'll have a few more Bucs wins to talk about." Well it's been 25+ yrs so far and we sure do! How about TWO Super Bowl wins!! Glad Tom got to see one of them. As far as a final salute to the "new" stadium, I don't think that's happening anytime soon! Long live The Big Sombrero, my favorite stadium ever!

It's ridiculous that they didn't/couldn't trade him at some point within a month or two after the draft, just like the Colts did with Elway 3 years earlier when they drafted him 1st overall. Cut your losses before he leaves for baseball & get some high picks + players so you at least get something!!

Thanks for posting this. Very little footage of Gary Anderson during his Bucs years. 1990 started off really hot and then his production, maybe because of a nagging injury or two, tailed off in the 2nd half of the season.

Culverhouse was a racist pos, he screwed Tampa Bay, should have resigned Dougie to finish his career in Tampa but he wouldnt pay a our QB what he was worth because he was black. He was paid less than 50 other QBs in the NFL and he was a starter. So almost 20 backup QBs were getting paif more than a starter that took his team to an NFC Championship game. It was Hugh's racism that put a curse on the bucs for all them years. We still love you in Tampa Doug.

If the Buccaneers hadn't lied to him and said that coming to visit wasn't against NCAA rules then he might have played for them. But it was against NCAA rules and Bo wasn't allowed to play baseball his senior year of college. From what I've heard is that the Buccaneers want him to pick football so badly that they purposely lied to him so he wouldn't be allowed to play baseball, and that would drive him to play football. Bo said to Culverhouse that if you want to draft me go ahead, but I won't play for you!
