@@positivebird0004 5 weeks, then it is still a chick in fact. If you are sure he gets enough food and is not hungry, then the sounds he makes are nothing to worry about. @myPampito3 жыл бұрын
4-5 ml per one feeding. You should watch the crop. It should be full but not overload. And becareful how fast you serve food, te chick has to swallow it before you press next portion. Next feeding should be only once the crop is again empty.

@@TuchhVichaar first you should try to return it to the nest if that was possible. If not, you should get hand feeding formula from a vet or pet store. You CAN'T feed a baby parakeet with home food. It will die.

They start to get adult colors when they are about 1 year old. You can always send feathers to labo for DNA testing if you want to know earlier.

Lovely flock Id love a big mixed aviary of these species one day some my favourites in there, I like the Derpy chill ness of the princess of wales parakeets, Red caps Purpureicephalus spurious would look good with your mix but bit grouchy with others and very flighty you have a good happy flock, have you ever had issues with the Australian Kings Cross breeding with the crimson wings? And the different mutation colours of the pows and rosellas breeding with opposite colours? , when I bred the cockatiels and kakarikis in colony aviaries it was difficult to keep track of who mated with who and what mutations it just got confusing and I found the kakarikis to be silly little nest box disturbers.. Hopping over everyone boxes peeping faces in giggling and running away 😂😁why I ended up going to individual pair avaries in the end, I keep Horned parakeets Eunymphicus cornutus very similar to the silly curious full of nonsense kakarikis, also keep Amboina kings and crimson wings among others and have pondered to have both species in a large aviary but worried about cross breeding. The season has arrived again such a exciting time of year for us aviculturists. Happy breeding 👌🐣🐤🐥🦜🦜🌻🌷🌼🌝🌞
@myPampito3 жыл бұрын
Hi, in fact once I was very close to buy a couple of redcaps, but due to their aggression I decided not. I was very lucky to get friendly couple of eastern rosellas that even allow kakarikis to feed their chicks. My male crimson rosella keeps only with kakarikis, never was interested in female rosella and is kind of „uncle” for baby kakarikis. Generally I try to have only those species and individuals among them that can live in peace with others. At the moment I have 3 couples of plumheaded parakeets that nest next to eachother and females dont fight. If you ask about crossbreeding, there is no much problems. I have only hybride couple of female regent and male barraband. Hybride baby is female and very beautiful. This year got adult and I see starts to keep with barraband male. Other crossbreeding is between redfronted and yellowfronted kakarikis (2 couples like that). I always know what is what and with which one as I’ve made a file with all informations.
