Do you know if its hard to find a job on IT with the working Holiday visa? Thank you! Great video well explained!
@Denamber-6916 сағат бұрын
Australia doesn't need us, LOL. The hardest visas to get are those that require age/occupation/health conditions and other limitations. It's a huge luck to find an employee who needs you and is ready to provide the sponsorship visa.
@marccarva15 сағат бұрын
You’re not wrong in many ways. But Australia does need us 100%. And that’s why the working holiday visa and many other options exist. It’s just that, very often they are not the sort of jobs people want to do.

Is it difficult to get a regular job (e.g. IT) with a working holiday visa because of the six month limit? Also out of curiosity where are you from? I’m moving to Sydney from Germany in 2025 ✌️
@marccarva15 сағат бұрын
It all depends on your current skills, experience, and your resilience to find a job. I did get a job in a tech company for 6 months contract at first during my WHV. But I had to knock hundreds of doors.

Thank you! Oh it varied but on the first day I’d say 2 hours, then Onok about 5/6 hours and then 2 hours on each of the last locations. It doesn’t look like a lot on paper but it was the perfect amount!

I tend to always travel last minute and not plan too much but for this one we really needed to book 3 months in advance because as you can see, there are limited boat seats and huts and the tour advised us to book early. It was a good call!

Obrigado! Na verdade não achei que os mosquitos fossem piores do que em outros lados. Mas recomendo repelente para a partir do por do sol. Esta expedição foi com The Wander Walkers em janeiro.

It would be nice to see how much is it to settle in Sydney. Under settle I mean to buy a house in a good suburb within 8 km from the CBD, private school fees for 2 children, all day child care for 1 child.

When I first came to Australia in 2002, I was told it would cost approximately $900 per person per week. That was quite scary. But when I looked the details, it involved expenses on liquor, travel, buying take away food, and entertainment. You would want to spend money on these probably when you are well settled. Things have become expensive, but incomes have also grown up.

You can change a light globe but not touch the wiring. The early closing hours were in a restricted area because too many uncontrolled idiots drank and partied too much causing far too many accidents and hospital or ambulance visits.

- You do not need an electrician to change a light glob or florescent tube. To instal a new light fitting you do, but I’m not going to be fiddling around with any wires. I’ll leave that to the professionals. - Re pubs, staff are prohibited by law from serving someone who is clearly intoxicated. This would be where they are unsteady, loud, aggressive, bothering other customers, etc. But if someone is just enjoying a night out and not making a nuisance of themselves, no worries. Drink driving laws are strict, more-so than the UK or most US States but comparable to most of Europe. - It is very difficult to get a restaurant meal after 8:30-9:00 PM in Sydney unless it’s McDonalds or other takeaway, impossible in places where most people live. Maybe Kings Cross or touristy areas. - And yes, you’ve disclosed something we don’t tell the tourists - it rains a lot in Sydney, more so in recent years. Summer is cloudy, humid and wet much of the time. One thing, the year 2022, when this video was made, was Sydney’s wettest year ever. Sydney’s sunniest weather is normally late Winter / early Spring. It’s why we held the “Summer” Olympics in September. As for Cricket, I think it’s just a matter of time before the idea of a Sydney Test Match in January is abandoned.

I would agree with most of this, as I lived in Sydney for six years until 2001. Traffic was really bad back then; now it is absolutely hideous! (We visited a friend there on the weekend.) Add hot AND humid summers (when aircon is ESSENTIAL), plus *ridiculous* housing prices (either buying or renting), and I would NEVER move back - even IF I could afford to do so. I sold my TINY terrace house in Newtown for $320K; it is now 'worth' $1.8 million, for just 87 square metres! Possibly because you can walk to the local train station (if it isn't pouring rain) where most of the trains don't stop. The few which do are inevitably packed already. I moved to Canberra and have been MUCH happier ever since. If we want to see a show, we fly to Melbourne. If we fly overseas, we transfer through Melbourne - just a short stroll between terminals. The few things Sydney has going for it, simply aren't worth the major hassles and expenses of going there or living there. (EG: $45 for parking at the Opera House, and $113 for drinks and a snack at the Opera Bar after; let alone the tickets for the show.)
