I bought this pedal on a whim recently for $37 on Reverb. I find myself mostly using the Tonebender setting, which sounds good and can be tweaked to different shades. Hard to argue with the price.

The subzero 30 inch baritone I got last year, sucked such major balls. It was the worst guitar I ever played, but this one sounds great. Maybe I just got a bad apple and I just sent it back. I’m going to give it another go and buy one of these.

I think luck is a factor with budget guitars for sure - Gear4Music’s return policy is pretty great though, so I wouldn’t mind rolling the dice a little. I had a few people telling me their 638s were great, which is part of the reason I wanted to try one out. They tweaked some stuff when they changed from subzero to G4M so it’s worth another try

They started selling on the 29th (just four days ago) and the damned scalpers bought Fender right out. They sold for $500.00 by Fender and the scalpers are selling them at around $800.00 each. The problem is, Only 500 white and 500 pink Hello Kitty 50th anniversary guitars were made.
@Luxpalloris6 күн бұрын
Those are interesting numbers, especial the fact only 500 pcs of each were made. Is there any way to verify this or where did you get this info?

It's a Squire with a half-decent pick-up. Of course it's okay to play. So what? It was originally designed for pre-teen girls. Now all these dumb-arsed Men think they have to own one. Frickin' ridiculous. Grow up, Boys. You're embarrassing yourselves.

I can not manage to config the Ampero ii for the following config: - balanced stereo WITH cab sim or IR (for FOH) AND AT THE SAME TIME - unbalanced to an external real power amp WITHOUT cab sim or IR (for the stage) "No Cab L" and "No Cab R" seems only to apply to left and right, but for both balanced and unbalanced. Somebody to know how to achieve this ?

The serial number starting with CY indicates this is the factory that makes the Affinity series guitars as well as the J Mascis Jazzmaster. I dont this should be an issue though - I personally have really good Squire guitars from this factory (especially the J Mascis, but I really like the neck that my Affinity Jazzmaster had too).
@FoiMal12312 күн бұрын
Mate they are sending you the best ones out of the batch. I mean I ordered 2 different instruments from their line (Both highest end of their brand). Unplayable instruments, because of the sharp knifes instead of frets...
@KaiDown12 күн бұрын
I doubt it, this one still needed a full setup and some fret levelling work. Fret ends are perfect though
@FoiMal12312 күн бұрын
I get it, you gotta put bread on the table, hence the affiliation and the comment, but their instruments just plain suck in terms of QC.
@KaiDown12 күн бұрын
@ If I suspected foul play, I would’ve called it out as I saw it. The main things I like about this guitar are the neck feel, the pickups, and the tuners. All things that can’t be cherry-picked from a batch
@FoiMal12312 күн бұрын
@ I’m not saying you’re covering anything up what I’m saying is that don’t be so naive to think that they aren’t actually sending you the best ones. They do it so you recommend it to more people. Every company has marketing campaigns and they are very meticulous with what they send to the influencers.

How is this guitar out of the box? Does it need any maintenance? Do the frets cut? How is the pickup?
@krimsonguitar12 күн бұрын
The fret work on mine was perfect. No sharp ends and the very well polished. Only thing i did to mine was drop the action a little bit.
@KaiDown12 күн бұрын
Pretty great out the box, I had to remove the string tree, and the truss rod was loosened to the point of rattling. Frets are fantastic though, nicely polished, no sharp ends, no high/low spots.

I picked up one of these. I own a 1989 Fender American Strat that I've had since then -- and I had low expectations -- but I was surprised at how good the new Hello Kitty Squier actually is. I love it! The pickup leads to really musical distortion. I appreciate the detail and honesty of this review. The truss rod thing is weird, mine hasn't done that yet. But again, kudos to you for including all of that and not dumbing down the review. Great video.
