I've been in Burns for 7 months now. The logging road that runs alongside hwy 20, heading east, turn left at the Sinclair gas station, has MILLIONS of obsidian pieces everywhere. They pave roads with it. It's all public land. You can get a BLM land map at their office as you enter town from the west. They just celebrated obsidian days here. An annual gathering. I can't believe you drove that far and never inquired anywhere. TONS. FREE. PUBLIC LAND. ROADSIDES. DITCHES. EVERYWHERE

I'm at that point almost with what's in our garage. I have enough junk collected that i can't get to everywhere in the garage so it piles up. Most of the problem right now is we need another 15 foot fence with gate to cordon off our side yard to keep our dogs out so we can open up the garage and clean it out without having to worry the dogs may get out. Fortunately our next door neighbor is going to do it for us for a smaller(significantly lower) price than we were quoted by a fencing company. We also need to replace the man door to garage on that side so it kinda frustrating. When we do get to garage , I'm just gonna start throwing away or donating or selling everything not needed.....been years since I've been able to clean out there...ocd to the max!

Sow it about 3" from the bottom. Open the end of that 3" pocket you sowed in.Then fill with gravel.Or go to a tire shop and buy about 3LB of old tire weights. That will hold it straight down. And sow the end closed again.
