Evidently not using the ears you came with, Not Humble Pie, Tommy's and Steve voices and renditions are not the same. This is unique to Tommy Farless and AZ.U.R. Not all members in a species are the same. I think this kicks some Detroit Rock and Roll Ask....................... SUI GENERIS

In their prime in 1991-1992, my band opened for Saigon Kick to a full-capacity crowd at the Rockit Club in Tampa Florida two separate times. As a local bar-star and seasoned player eight or ten years older than these guys, I couldn't help but be amazed with the amount of command they had over the audiences at those two shows... It was both awe-inspiring and a little humbling knowing we'd never come close to reaching their (albeit fleeting) level of popularity. They effortlessly connected with any crowd they encountered, and rightly so because they rocked. All pretty nice guys...Tom was always the coolest, Matt was generally pleasant and polite, Phil wanted to shag our girlfriends, and Jason was a little to aloof and distracted to notice the relative strangers occupying the same space as him backstage. And now some thirty-plus years later, we all work at the same carwash... Their charisma level is still the same, but their energy output is lagging, especially on busy Saturday mornings...

I tried out with them in 83/84 off the 118. They were into glam and wanted me to buy high-heeled boots. Fresh from Chicago, this was too much. Having a mens size 12 foot.

Badlands were okay. They has a series of mediocre albums that were really just for fans of Jake E Lee. They were victims of the hard-won lesson learned that mass appeal unfortunately requires something other than mere talent.

I think the Shooting Gallery'd version is the best by far. The best technically recorded. The slow tempo from Shooting Gallery's studio album gives the song it's appropriate dark stoner vibe that matches with the lyrics. The guitar progression and the solo are also way better in SG's version preparing the vibe perfectly for the instrumental breakdown that will make room for the whispered "siren song part". Best track of Shooting Gallery's record... Best version of Devil Calling ever in my opinion.
