Dude, this is an analog mixer with good pre-amps able to do multi-track recording. That's what it's meant for. It's not Soundcrafts fault if you need more inputs and buy a device that doesn't have them. 😅

Any idea How to init patch on virus ti...?
@CaidicusProductionsАй бұрын
I remember trying to figure this out, myself, and learning at there is no specific function. If you change to a really deep path, something really far down the list, and it's an init patch, load it up, then save over whatever number you're trying to init. If you don't have any init patches left, you'll likely have to look into using the PC to redo all of your patches with one of the preset packs for the device. One of the official or unofficial ones. A lot of resources can be found here: www.virus.info/downloads/6/Sounds-and-Patches It's been a while since I've even used my Virus, so I can't remember the process involved, but if I can figure it out, most people should be able to. :D For what it's worth, I also saved over the main init patch and went through the same "How the hell do I initialize the patch?!" issue you're currently going through. This is where I learned that it's not as simple as some button combination or menu dive. Luckily, one of the patches I had in like A 98 or some obscure number at the end, it was an init patch, so I loaded it and saved it over whatever I had on the first patch slot. I hope you find a resolution.

Indeed, this was way back in the beginning of my DAWless journey and I'd gotten it after being advised to by the salesman at the store where I bought it. For what it's worth, I haven't used it in years as, at last I had used it, it had a pretty significant hum that might've been caused by any number of issues, be it a faulty power plug, "dirty" power, or some fault in the unit. Anyhow, for what it's worth, I've had enough replied on here over the years, and have read each one of them, which has convinced me that it's as you say. I didn't do enough research, didn't know enough about what I was looking for, and that enough people have had good experiences with this mixer to make me think that it's probably quite good value for the money. So, yep, I gotcha. Thanks for the reply.

How's that external locus of control working out for you? Anxiety and depression just "imaginary" too, I see? Like God is imaginary to you, so can't go to Him for help, 'cause well, pride and all, you know... So, lack of an integrated sense of self (which is a parent's actual job to integrate inside of their kid), is just fine to limp along without, huh? Just use external validation "in moderation" like a lost emptied out sod cutting a line just one time more on a piss stained toilet lid... what a fuggin' sad patch...a big ol' hole inside ya where parent was supposed to place the Nintendo controller...ya look inside, and...just, nothin' there... Many probably decide to be a girl next... Never occurs to you to call upon your creator.

Blogger, I would like to ask you if you have encountered a problem with the broken screen? Recently, when I was doing pre-purchase inspection, I found that BOOX manufacturers broke out in about 22 years with abnormal screen cracking and did not give warranty problems (as well as external screen cracking and mandatory replacement of the entire screen assembly). I would like to ask you if you have encountered similar problems in use.

@CaidicusProductions6 ай бұрын
Hey man, unfortunately, I don't know what's causing your issue, so I don't know how to fix it. I would just say to check your outputs in that track's settings. The eye icon at the top right of the track window. The other thing is, make sure you haven't set the pan to be all right or all left, in the track view where you can see what looks like a piano view. Below where your notes are penciled in, there's a bar-graph view that shows volume, but I think there's also a setting for left and right pan in there. I'm sorry I can't offer any more specific instructions than that. I do hope you get it figured out, and thank you for the kind comments about my video.

One thing about the design that is bad is the display / Enter button. Would have been much better with a larger display and just a normal "Enter" button. Not a personal fan of the "wiggly" display idea. The general idear of the instrument is definetly great. of cause some won't like it, some will love it, and some of us would wish they had taken it a bit further with a more serious powerfull processing board to actually reach out to match the posibilities like the Korg Kronos. and provide a larger ammount of cuncurrent sound combis and poliphony. Arturia already have possible one of the best plugin collection available in the V-collection and other plugins. Wether they sound exactly the same as the originals or not is not a real issue to me. Just to have that many classic instrument recreations in a "box" or software collection in a stage keyboard is kinda awsome. Just wish Arturia will take it further with an "Astrolab Titanic" where you just have to connect eg. a Keylab 88 or what you prefere in keybeds to have a full gig setup for all your sounds 😋
@CaidicusProductions6 ай бұрын
Well, I suppose one benefit of this keyboard is that any patches you make in V Collection can be exported directly onto your Astrolab. Then, the four knobs you use as macros can be set to modify parameters of the patch according to your liking. I like this synth simply because it's a very straight forward, plug in and play synth. Nice for when I just want to pull up a patch and start playing.

Sure! Underneath the dial, there are a few buttons. Hit the back button until you reach the screen where you can see that heart option. You should be able to find your favorited selections there.

Interesting that it has SPDIF I/O .. One of my audio interfaces has that -- It's just a way of sending digital audio over an RCA cable -- so you can get audio into it to process with its FX without going through extra analog/digital conversion steps, or having to rely on computer connectivity for the same.. I'm thinking about getting this Ti Polar as my first Virus synth..So very tempting; Iridium Core is the same price though, so I'm on the fence. Definitely going for TI1 over 2 , as all that extra power would be wasted on me and most people. It's already 80 voices of Polyphony , 16 voice multi-timbral, which would be hard to have that many simultaneous patches at once in your song, using 80 voices at once ... (Bass, a couple Leads, pads, sound FX , flourishes -- probably wouldn't even use 50 voices for me)

I read some coments that effects don't come trough the headphones, is this true? Because I would use for in ear monitor on live gig and I need to hear the effects applied to vocals. Another thing is I want to use an external Behringer FX2000 effects on AUX and I will return on a stereo Channel. It is possible to also the internal effects be sumed with this external effects? Or when I connect a P10 cable on AUX it will desengage internal effects?

I’ve watched a lot of Review Videos on this instrument and this is one of the best ones I’ve seen. I like your honest approach and it’s very informative. If possible would you possibly do a video that shows how you can record into a DAW with it and utilise the Audio Inputs and USB-C connectivity? I don’t know whether it’s possible to just record the Audio of everything you are doing and effecting coming in via the Audio inputs via USB for instance
@CaidicusProductions7 ай бұрын
Hey, brotherman. Unfortunately, I don't have a DAW to test this with, as I use an MPC Live in place of a DAW. That said, I don't see why whatever's going into the inputs on the Astrolab wouldn't also come out of any and all outputs of the device, including the USB. You might need to set it in the settings, though you might not need to, either. If you plug the Astrolab into USB, and plug something else into the audio inputs, then hook the USB up to a PC, whatever comes out of the Astrolab should go into whatever DAW you're using, so long as you've set it up to receive on the track you're trying to record into. Should, being the keyword. :P

Thanks for the tips. I'm new to the MPC platform and trying to figure out a workflow that will work for me and help me cut the umbilical to the DAW. Recording longer audio tracks or several passes of the same section is definitely a part of that for me, but I'm starting to see that it's not going to be so easy in the MPC environment. Your video gave me a useful idea, though. I can expand the length of a sequence, jam over that, and then cut it back to the original length at the section that I like best. This definitely helps. One thing, though. You used song mode to make a longer section. Maybe this function didn't exist earlier in the MPC, but there is a function in the sequence menu (accessed via the pencil sign to the right of the sequence name on the main menu) that allows you to simply double the sequence at the press of a button. This doubles any existing audio tracks, too, but you can just record a new longer one after that. It's probably a lot quicker and easier than using the song mode.
@CaidicusProductions8 ай бұрын
I did not know about the double feature. How is that accessed? Also, thank you for the thoughtful and comprehensive reply, and of course, thank you VERY much for watching.
@mindspace6968 ай бұрын
@@CaidicusProductions You're welcome! The options for doubling (or halving) the sequence length are accessed via the Home page. As you will know, this page is divided into three sections - for Sequence, Track and Program. There is a pencil on the right hand of the screen for each of these sections. If you tap the pencil for the Sequence section, it brings up a page with different options. the 2x or /2 options are here. They're very quick to use - and very helpful. I hope they save you some time in the future. All the best!

Really appreciate your perspective. I am trying to avoid long learning curves and tech for the sake of tech. I have been using an Arturia controller with my MacBook and Ableton. There are other options including some of the new Roland mini devices that can be powered via USB and a power bank. It's really up to your budget.
