Hello Rene, thank you for putting this all together for us. I really appreciate to have your thoughts and observations in English (much appreciated). Interesting: funny how we fuss, and fuss over our audio setups only to be humbled at the simple setup Yamin had playing his guitar with voice. Humbling. Kindest regards, Brian

I got a bit PO'ed by this. Juicy, and you show a picture of oranges, you think we can't imagine? Never mind the irrelevant pictures. In my country Br08 cost $940.. The MA 100 cost $5k. It is five times the price, and you're surprised they were a tad better? Not to mention that you chose to put those two speakers against each other.. Do someone cross shop them you think? And the music.. Maybe include the rest of the 99.99% that listen to not so strange music you have to pay $32 to listen to. Thanks for nothing I guess. Just to add, Why didn't you use the Triangle Magellan 40th anniversary Duetto instead? I don't know who you are trying to reach with this video.

Dear Rene' I'd like to buy the Appluase 300b. Please let me know if there is inside the box the user's or the service manual to set the bias of the 300b tubes. DcAmeter how should be used? Are the tubes well protected in the box during transport? Thanks for your answers and greetings from Italy! Marco
@renessoundlife2353 ай бұрын
Dear Marco, thank you for contacting me. There is not only light but also some shadow: Chinese devices don't have manuals and if they have, they are useless. There is no manual bias, the a-meter will only tell you when you are totally out of range. In this case you need a technician to decide if a manual correction is still possible or it is time to replace the tubes. There was no shipping damage, packing was sufficient and I had no repair so far. But some time has passed since I made the review and 300Bs have become a fashion since then, so take a look around before you decide. There are more options than 2 years ago. Hope I could help you a little, best greetings to Italy.

I tend to get a bit short of patience with those displaying their rather churlish jealousy in substandard and dismissive comments: enjoy the toy…..$19,870 USD is insane to SOME, but not all those who love world-class performances. Nevertheless, massive A-300s, Accuphase’s, Esoterics, and especially M-10x Luxmans ARE NOT toys, by any stretch of the imagination! Any SPLs in excess of 105 dB delivered on perfect oscilloscope roundness is a tremendous crowning, monumental achievement. Any loudspeaker capable of MY FAVORITE parameter: Peak Transient Composure, is certainly no one’s toy! They’re precision instruments that command serious, sobering respect.🌷

As you have been a loyal companion on my cumbersome journey I would like to thank you very specially. Finally and to my surprise the JA30 turned out to be the sore spot (not the JP30), therefore for the time being the Jadis Pre is going to stay (nevertheless it would be interesting to find out in the future if the Plinius Pre would outperform the Jadis as well, but this will be difficult to check because Thailand is not a Plinius stronghold). The mix sounds as great as described so there is no need for action at this moment. René

I was watching one of your videos where you were trying new equipment. You were saying that the Thailand Electrical grid fluctuate. My suggestion is use batteries that can be charged the same time as they are discharged. There are many products, at least in the U.S that offer that option. You would get pure power at a very cheap price. Which may solve your noise product with your amps.

Sad to see you have had so much trouble with your Jadis. It is painful when you have an aspirational product you looked forward to owning be a reliability nightmare. Had a similar experience with a pair of Monoblock tube amps, very expensive, highly regarded, and very disappointing. The issue was the voltage in my house runs too hot and would over saturate the grid voltage on the tubes. This caused them to constantly blow a sacrificial resistor. Nothing I did seemed to help, putting them on dedicated circuits, re-tubing, installing the latest updates etc... The only solution was to put in a pair of power regenerators that regulated the voltage. The things cost just as much as the amps, plus I hated how they choked out all the beauty of their sound. So, I just traded the amps and went with a solid-state product. I feel you are making a wise albeit painful decision. Sometimes you just have to divorce yourself from a nightmare product, cut your losses, and move on. Wish you the best of luck.

ILast week I traded my JA30 in for something so much better and it is also solid state (cf. my latest video which will be uploaded on August 2nd). Your transformer hum is probably the result of DC current from your wall outlets. I would look into a power conditioner to get rid of the transformer hum. With a good power conditioner you get also a blacker brackground, a more relaxed presentation, more details, better soundstage and separation. Good contenders would be Puritan PSM 156, Niagara 3000, 5000. Cheers!
