It just amazes me that people who wouldn't have a platform to speak without the herculean work of people like King have the audacity to criticize him. Yes, I'm aware that no one is above criticism, but let's see the fruits of the labors of MLK's critics. Don't get on the scale if you haven't got the weight.

King did what he thought he had to for the cause of Civil Rights. Some people were butt-hurt over his methods but never seemed to come up with any alternate solutions. Not offering any plans or strategies of their own ...? They could kick rocks then. They can kick rocks now.

😂 always have to have a token to attack blacks they have an issue with because they opposed their disgusting way of life and who are more righteous than their own demonic racist heroes who are/were products of their own demonic churches and pastors. BTW, I don't think King was a Christian, but he never identified as a Socialist/Marxist. In fact, I have a book full of his speeches and sermons, and I'm quite certain he opposed those ideologies because they were godless. King had heretical beliefs, but he believed in God and that He played a role in what King was trying to do, which is why it's not accurate to call him a Marxist/Socialist. It's like the difference between Malcolm X and the Nation of Islam and the Black Panther Party. The two are not synonymous though they had similar ideologies. The Black Panther Party was influenced by Malcolm, but they were definitely Marxist - a godless organization that saw no need for God or any religion. Malcolm on the other hand absolutely saw that God was a necessity when it came to solving theissues in black America.

What a horribly racist thing to say. You’re essentially saying a black man should just be grateful and not hold any opinions of his own because of the civil rights movement. I bet you also believe women should shut up and be grateful to the feminists for giving them “the vote”, too? Which is a misogynist view to hold btw.

Did MLK ever say he was a Marxist? It's important that Christians, especially leaders, avoid statements that could cause them to bear false witness. MLK might not have had perfect theology but who displayed more Christlikeness, him or the Evangelical leaders at the time that wouldn't allow MLK into their institutions to learn sound theology because of the color of his skin? Selah! Also, who's doing a better job of seeking justice for the poor, those who follow MLK's model or the elitist Evangelicals who use labels to demonize those pursuing legal justice for the poor? Please avoid the yeast of the Pharisees folks!! Are you actually for fighting for the things Christ did and are you doing it with the same Spirit & manner He did? Again, Selah!
@liljs4189
@liljs4189 2 күн бұрын
You’re overemphasizing his works and explicitly downplayed his theology, shows how much of a Christian you really are. Liberal theology like yours which believes good works are all that’s needed for salvation and that we can have heretical theology isn’t true Christianity, selah!!!

Funny that Mr. Baucham wouldn't be sitting with these men 80 years ago. He would have been lynched by men like that. The reality is that the reason there is a Black Church in The USA is because of the sin of racism of The White Church (Jemar Tisby). When Rev. Richard Allen and Rev. Absalom Jones accidentally knelt to pray on the "White Section" of the altar (Let that sink in) they were asked to get out of that section. Rev. Allen asked to wait after prayer and they would move. They were forcibly removed so Rev. Allen said if they couldn't pray together, well they wouldn't worship together and you had the birth of The AME Church. Also within Baptists, why was The SBC formed? Over slavery. Finally, also Pentecostals. Why was The Assemblies of God formed? Whites did not want to be led by a Black Pastor, Rev. Charles Harrison Mason in The COGIC so the White Contingency left The COGIC to form The White Assemblies of God. I am dumbfounded by the lack of ignorance of Church History in The USA. I am not affirming MLK's beliefs as orthodox, but I am amazed at the lack of knowledge of Church History in the USA. There is more than just the Calvinist/Reformed School of Theology in The USA. The truth is Mr. Baucham would not have sat with these men 80 years ago. Why is he able now? Because of people like MLK, Rev. Richard Allen, and Rev. Dr. Charles Johnson (I recommend his biography: Called to the Fire: A Witness for God in Mississippi.)

Brothers, stop being duped !!! The modern idea of “race” is not Biblical. It is an evolutionary, social construct used by cultural Marxists and others to divide us. According to 1 Peter 2:9, all who trust in Christ belong to “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation”, regardless of the amount of melanin in their skin.

I would like to hear Voddie explain a better way for MLK to have fought for equal rights? They didn’t like the Malcolm X approach and Voddie doesn’t like the MLK approach, so I want to hear Voddie voice the best approach to civil rights in those days after he is reaping the benefits of the movement. Voddie would not be on that stage with those men if it wasn’t for MLK. Voddie would not be able to vote if it wasn’t for MLK. Every speech I’ve heard from MLK was about equality, nothing like the liberals we hear today.

Thanks Voddie. Someone has reported that King was a Buddhist, I believe. I need to research this more. It is hard to get to his true beliefs. King made many good changes in our country that we needed. He was not perfect and not a morale man. This seems to be the case with many leaders. We do need to know the truth as Americans.

But to conflate his civil rights activism with his pastoral role is a bit of a straw man. Again, I love voddie but hate how these black men are used by white men to vilify our own when they won’t even speak about trump who is myriad more immoral than king ever was. And trump is an autocrat, oligarch, coupe de tat leader. At least Obama never tried to undermine and usurp the government after losing an election.

Democracy said, "Go to the back of the bus". MLK looked into Marxist ideologies for obvious reasons. At the end of the day, he died for a cause that allowed Pastor Voddie to sit next to those other pastors on that platform. Was MLK perfect? NO. He was in a greek fraternity, and Marxist. Not what Christians should emulate, but he was still used by God to help unify the US.
