I just wanted to thank you for such a wonderful demonstration on how to do the long tail cast on. I've been doing the long tail cast on, but another way that takes longer, is not professional looking. and also I get so much variation in the widths between each stitch and the heights of the stitches. The way you taught how to do it ....... I FINALLY GOT IT after years of trying!!! ( I put it on a lower playback speed but can finally cast on the right way!) This made my day! I'll refer back to your video from now on. I also loved the tutorial on how to work with the double point needles. I did have two questions though. When you cast on the first stitch, does it matter if you pull the yarn through from the tail side or the working yarn side? Also, when working on joining in the round, when using medium weight yarn, many sites state to add one stitch extra to prevent a long section in between the first 2 stitches. Do you also recommend that? Thank you so much. I'm so glad I found your you tube video. Your soothing voice made it very relaxing to watch and learn. Thank you again !!!

Does it matter how many stitches you have to follow this pattern. I have 108. How many stitches should I put a marker on

I have a hat pattern for a baby hat that I want to make bigger. So, more stitches. What is the rule of thumb on how to decrease, for different number of stitches .

Amy smdy yes I agree. This was exactly what I was looking for when she had one stitch on one needle and one stitch on the other and had to do a k2tog, but It was too high and I couldn’t see what she did.

Unfortunately, the camera or the hands are not properly positioned as hands and needles are blurry; and the knitter has not noticed when the project is no longer visible as they have gone out of camera range.

Do you really have to switch to dpn because I don’t have any. Is there a way to keep it on the circular needle?
@maryathey2805 жыл бұрын
your instructions are very good but you need to have your camera positioned to show everything you are instructing. You keep going off camera at the top i.e., when hiding your tails; as you were trying to instruct how to knit a flower. Otherwise I give you a 5.......

Can I do the whole thing in dpns? A set of circulars are a little pricey for me right now and buying one specifically for hats doesn’t make sense for me cuz I have to end with dpns anyway Any suggestions?

@AllieBee006 жыл бұрын
GiGi Johnson no it gets harder the less stitches so it’s just easier to finish off on dpns
@wolfegirl10134 жыл бұрын
Yes, DPNs can be a bitch while getting the hang of them, (and frankly even after you know how to use them) but it is is much more efficient to use them when sealing a hat.

Very nice instructions and you have a very nice voice, clear directions, just one thing--the camera needs to be aimed more at the action of your fingers, you are often doing things off of the screen.
