Life saver! Great video.. have to do this to ours shortly and this gave me all I need to know. She's been a good work horse and batteries aside this oil leak is our first big issue.

Great video thanks. Is there a torque setting for the bolts? I couldn’t find one online

all you needed to do was clean it and put rtv on done 100s never leaked since, & if you put the parking brake on it will keep running. looks like you need to give it a wash

Could I ask you how Much oil you use when servicing the mower ?thanks

I use half a litre. Normally I go and get a service kit, comes with plug, fuel filter, air filter and oil. Use half a container and dip to see level. Don't overfill, just top up as required.

Thanks, I've a 1538h and was told to use 1.6 litres, I put in 1.2 and even that was way above the Mark on the dipstick, I've had to drain out alot of the oil yesterday and will check levels again today. thanks for your reply

Can I ask why you bought a new cover - can you not use this new gasket with the old rocker cover?

I bought the new cover to ensure a good seal. No reason you couldn't re-use the old one.

Great video! Bonus points for the cat. I have the same mower and have had nothing but trouble with it in 2 years! I can't believe you've had it for 7 and not a bother. The latest trouble I am having is that it seems to be struggling only when I engage the blades. I can hear the belts squeak the odd time. Have you ever had to grease the pulleys or anything like that? I guess a stuck pulley would cause this problem. As for this video, can we expect this problem to happen to all 1530h mowers? Do you think?

The belts stretch. Underneath is a spring auto adjustment. It can get caked up and not return properly. As for the oil problem, it does seem a common fault.

Thanks for the new part numbers. I am just about to do the same repair - Obviously a common fault.
