Nice fly, but it is a good thing you own a fly shop with fly tying material. You are really using a lot of material. Also, when tying in such long pieces...no real need to taper material after the tail area because the rest will be trimmed to shape. I know, because I was doing the same thing!!😂😂😂 Happy fishing and tight lines!!

Hi! Thank you for your fly tying tutorial. I've watched a couple of tying tutorials for tying tom thumbs now. And I'm happy to say, I've learnt something from you too. I liked your story about the first trout you caught.

One thing I tried was to coat the golden pheasant tippet with Solarez flex uv to keep the fibers together! That worked great. Just a suggestion. Love the pattern.

Appreciates the explanation of Flytying with the anti-stack back. Would you be so kind to send me the link about the red bud or baboon red collar bud you are going to fly tie thank you.

A lot of these mids blend from dark olive at the collar, to a light olive mid section into a red butt. A variation of this I tie is using yellow olive instead and put UV resin on the collar to darken and at the butt to blend. For the middle section use crazy glue to preserve the yellow olive but you have to be careful not to overlap the resin and glue

Sounds dangerous 😳 ☠️. I definitely would not be mixing chemicals. How do they look without resins? Try getting them wet also, you might be pleasantly surprised.

@@BradKnowlesPembertonFishFinder haha.. If this is my last post you know the answer! Yeah when they get wet it's the same effect as uv resin.. Quite dark. I sometimes use Sally Hanson Hard as Nails to get more sheen and retain the colour.. The super glue isn't very glossy

I love tying composite loops there are so many options , I know a lot of people use dubbing brushes and there OK but they are often to much for smaller flies with the wire creating bulk . Some times I will cut the fibers off different dubbing brushes and use the fibers in my own composite loop . Any way you do it makes for some good swinging flies . Thanks for the video.

Zack, you mentioned Twassen. Are you at a fly shop near there? My buddies and I used to go through Blaine and shop at a store 8-10 miles into BC then drive up toward Vancouver and shop Pacific Net and Twine and one other shop. I make my flies zing a little with PB hair from up there. 😊

What you refer to as a colar is actuly called the thorax of the fly. FYI: your wire should always go under neath the shank of the hook. Do this and you will see your flies look a lot more consistent..If you are using light coloered thread you can you use a furniture pen to color the thorax so you dont need to change thread colors.....just trying to help
