I used to crab in the Patapsco river using ring traps on my aluminum deep v boat. Did pretty good. And you're right about those dirty shells, definitely heavy crabs.

1) Excellent narration of your technique. 2) Really enjoyed the close up sections of video. 3) I'm going to try the upward flaking / trimming technique rather than always flipping the piece from side A to side B. It seems that I'm always chasing ridges around the point trying to get them on center line 🙃. I think you solved my problem! I'm at the advanced novice stage and I'm so glad that I've saved all of the percussion bulbs from breaking down a big piece of obsidian.
