Don’t worry about “all” the details is the heart of every artistic learning. Essentially. Relax. And Just focus on some. You cover alot of helpful angles on the tune. Very generous of you to share. I have been playing for 30 years. I can chop thru a zillion songs and dead songs but teaching is its own skill. I came here to see if someone had a nice quick way to make it work for a single guitar. You nailed it. But more impressed with your kindness and intuition of helping people and a musical intuition of also playing acoustic alone and carrying the feel of the tune. Keep going bud. Much love.

Just discovered your channel, finally I found someone who's teaching style meshes perfectly with the way I learn. Your are so very talented. More tutorials please, throwing stones would be great. I really struggle with my right hand, timing and rhythm. I know chords I can change between chords pretty fluently, I just can't get things to sound the way I want because of my rythm/timing. Any tips or practice advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated. For instance I noticed in this tutorial when you were doing that opening intro I noticed you kind of hitting the open E string almost as a way of keeping time before you went to the D string. Am I correct in assuming that helps with the timing? If my question makes sense. Thanks
@miraclejohan
@miraclejohan Жыл бұрын
Thank you! And yes, my right hand definitely keeps rhythm even sometimes when I’m not playing anything with it. I do a lot of instinctual palm mutes to help with this, especially on songs like this that chug along. Quieter/gentler songs not do much! Can I ask does your right hand struggle all the time or only when trying to sing along too?
@Ryan-Kako

@@miraclejohan all the time, some songs more than others. For example runaround by blues traveler about a girl by nirvana i can play pretty much flawless. On the other hand a tune like Jack a roe or touch of grey I really struggle with.
@miraclejohan
@miraclejohan Жыл бұрын
@@Ryan-Kako yeah that makes sense. Those examples of tough songs are actually tough. JaRoe is fast and bluegrass with emphasis on the bass notes and ToGrey has upstroke emphasis as well. My only advice is to try playing them slowly slowly slowly, just a part (intro, or verse or chorus) really focusing on that right hand…

You got any simple ways to practice/muscle memory on barre chords, you explain things well..I have also found the extra string hitting out a problem..only 2 months in with learning 52 left it late but love the sound and I love not perfect sometimes it is the only way ! Well taught man!👏
@miraclejohan
@miraclejohan Жыл бұрын
Thank you! The bar chords to me are muscle memory extending from the open chords they travel up the neck from, the hardest part for me was learning the root note up and down the neck to know where things are supposed to sit. When you say "muscle memory" are you talking about the chord shapes or where on the neck to go or both? And the extra strings hitting out...that's in relation to how much I emphasized palm muting with the right hand?
@troopure
@troopure Жыл бұрын
@miraclejohan both and honestly people say that strumming is simple from the pick to grades of sizes I'm using a0.46mm light strings on accoustic learning myself (slowly) Palm muting strumming is ok holding/muting the strings but putting it into playing is difficult I can hold G D E eminor a minor A Struggle with C F changes. Trying power chords from you tube songs ie stained outside. Can you suggest a simple practice session for chord change/progression and a basic strumming learning technique. Honestly brother it's so nice when you hit the notes right but I feel my chord fingers maybe wrong I like death grip them when I see others it looks like no pressure added like mine.. I'm definitely stiff maybe that's nerves?? Won't give it up though. Appreciate your reply.
