Watching this is so mental. I’m in my fifties but feel angst and eagerness like I did as a teenager. I feel like I did when watching live action movies like Bladerunner too. People call this either cyberpunk or goth. To me, it feel like sci-fi goth, having been young in the 80’s and 90’s. But also brings ti mind many foreign drama movies from the 60’s through 80’s, with that underlying pain and pull of communistic versus individualism values. Also the story Anthem by Ayn Rand. The sadness that pervades this show is so amazingly written into it. There’s overt and underlying emotion. I literally don’t know what to do with myself! Just listening and watching this opening song is all I can do.
