Bob Fosse grew up in Chicago in my fathers neighborhood. Fosse said he was influenced by the burlesque dancers he saw at the Rialto theatre in Chicago. My father and a lot of the boys would skip school to see the comedians dancer etc. one day their principal followed them on the train and the all the kids were caught. I thought that was a funny story.

Was this live? I’m wondering because this vidoe shows part stitched and edited together. What was actually seen on that stage to the audience?

The two most important contributors to American musical theatre in its entire history are Stephen Sondheim and Jonathan Larson.

And there are so many politicians who seem to hold the opinion expressed at 3:55. "The inconvenience, having to get a majority."

Absolutely no one tops Glenn Close in this role. She is mesmerizing. Her performance brings tears. Seen her three times. A magical evening.

I loved the original recording with Page, but LaPone captured the roughness and vulgarity the real Eva Peron exhibited. This was a backwater broad who clawed her way to the top.

Im sorry.Elaine Paige is Eva Peron.Listen to the original London cast recording and you will change your mind

Remember that La Vie Bohème was born because during the first performance of RENT, the cast was performing seated, since Johnathan had passed away that day and they were trying to be respectful, but once they got to La Vie Bohème...they stood up...and gave it everything they had, to celebrate John's life. They couldn't hold it in.

Patti’s acting is electric. She could’ve either said or sang those words and would’ve been equally compelling in this role. ❤
