I was at that airshow. I got a ride in a jet, and two rotor wing aircraft. One was a sar Labrador and the other was c/s bandaid one. I really want to experience what it’s like to land in a single engine jet. RIP Cowboy.

During Desert Storm I was deep in the belly of the USS Theodore Roosevelt in a weapons magazine. The loadout plan came out at 0700 and we started humping ordnance. I was mostly in a missile magazine building Phoenix, Sparrow and Sidewinders. The demand for air to air missiles really tapered off after a few weeks, but the demand for LGB's and Snake Eyes really increased. Mk 82, 83 and 84's were the main entre being served. Laser guided bombs were very popular. Snake Eyes are just dumb bombs with an attachment that opened up into a parachute to slow the bomb down for low level runs. If you don't slow them down, they will explode underneath you. Mk 82s (500 lbs) and Mk 83s (1000 lbs) were the most common. The big boy Mk 84 2000 pounders were for the hardened shelters. We built so many that we were unrep-ing every other day to replenish our stocks. I got out shortly after the war ended and I was ripped! lol I miss those days!

@browner7097 Great job archiving all of these videos. Do you happen to have any episodes of the series "Flightpath" that aired on Discovery Channel in the late 90's? I've been able to find a handful on KZbin, but still lots to track down from 5 seasons.

Had all of these sitting on my shelf for the last 30 years or so. Purchased entire sets and various singles along the way, and finally getting around to digitizing them. I only have 2 Flightpath episodes that were recorded directly from discovery : "Sky Giant" (USAF C-17) and "Fighter Pilot" (Canadian Air Force/Maple Flag). Both from 1997. Planning to upload both soon.

Buddy of mine purchased the original cruise video from VF-32 back in Oceana in the early 2000s, and gave a copy to me a couple of years later. Full credit to them for all content and footage is given in my vid description. Just passing along some history from a fantastic Tomcat.

After about six weeks of bombing, a massive artillery barrage had to precede the ground invasion, and all against a decrepit third-rate military equipped with predominately monkey-model versions of Soviet weaponry regardless of the volume of forces the Iraqis had at their disposal.
