Had the same issue which is why I found the video. I think I figured out why. I was pressing it into the basket when it was already extended. This is what causes the divot. Looks like you are supposed to use "gravity" to gently allow it to press against the bed and stop naturally. Then I twist it a bunch, maybe 5-8 times. So start with it fully inside and allow it to gently fall into the bed. Let me know if that worked!!!

I’m about to upgrade from my lelit fred (38mm conical burrs). Hoping this will be quite a step up. Don’t really see the big deal about the little things people complain about with this machine. Some retention who cares, just tap it, pretty much have to do that with most grinders in this price range anyway.

Also the audio cut out when you talked about range. Did it make it to 1000 feet?
@TheRovingReviewer
@TheRovingReviewer 3 ай бұрын
I haven't tested to the entire 1000ft, but it works well through concrete walls and floors which normally block Bluetooth transmissions. I'd imagine you'd need extremely ideal conditions to hit that range - no obstructions, walls, trees, buildings etc.

I haven't bought this yet because Amazon reviews say the alarms are loud and you can not disable them. You are saying you can turn it to flashing light? Interesting! Another complaint they shut off after 2 hours, but I need for smoker up to 12 hours. Any feedback on how long you have seen it stay on? Great video!
@TheRovingReviewer
@TheRovingReviewer 3 ай бұрын
You can set up alarms for the temperature, time etc, but I don't think you can disable the audio. Mind you if my meat was burning I'd probably want to know, so a loud audio alarm suits me!

I haven't had any issues with it turning off, though I've not used it for more than 2 hours. It is set to auto off if the receiver loses connection with the transmitter or if the temperature drops below 40 degrees Celsius.

Honestly alot of the cheaper blenders perform super well alot these days. I'd look at how powerful the motor is, especially if you make super thick or dense smoothies. Also look at the accessories it comes with and the warranty! These things burn out no matter how good they are, so the longer the warranty the better.

@@TheRovingReviewer Yeah instead of the mouse resting in your palm, you arch palm up and grip it like a claw (google claw grip). You can then use the tips of you fingers to more easily press the center of the button. I also find it easier to use side button as I can use the tip of my thumb. Also really good for travel mouse, as I like to use a small travel mouse because space is premium when travelling.

The issue is, I think the distributer would unevenly compress the grounds when you first put it on, people have shown it has a negative impact on extraction. What do you think?
@TheRovingReviewer
@TheRovingReviewer 11 ай бұрын
It's a good point. I think if you're good with your tamping technique, you wouldn't need this. I think it's really more targeted at the home wannabe baristas, almost like another bragging piece to add to your coffee collection. I'd prioritise getting an amazing grinder, fresh beans and getting all your timings down.
