Hey, I was really interested how the Superlite is able to actuate the clutch being a mid engine car. Like does it have a little bracket and the clutch cable is attached, or it’s a whole entire system of pulleys cables and different arms and mounting to actuate the clutch? Thanks!

Im loving this project man! Cant believe how much we think alike as far as components of our projects, i see so many similarities! Ive been itching to get my hands on an aftermarket a.c. system (restomod air?) And tear into it to see how i might be able to control fan speed and/or temp with some custom steering controls i made. (Using arduino , im able to have up to 20 different resistive buttons, each one configuable to be latching or momentary, and they simply control a 12v tlrelay panel)
@JoelKSLC2 ай бұрын
Thanks @hammer_2.2 I haven’t messed with arduino, but looks like you can automate so many things with them. If I ever do another build which is unlikely I’d like to get into arduino, 3D printing, and maybe one of the open source auto dash systems.

Cool project, funny i stumbled on it randomly because i am using a CMX to control some electronics as well! You might be able to simplify your system by using a Hella Latching relay like i did. The Hella Latching relay has 2 ground triggered terminals, one to set and one to reset/cancel the latch. Once latched in either position, it consumes absolutely no current to hold it in place. Some of the latching relays i tried from ebay/Amazon seem to always consume current in stand by. The Hella relay can eliminate this as well. I simply tied the ground unlock and lock outluts of the CMX to the Set and Reset pins of the Hells relay. Now it will power several components when i am in proximity or use the app on my phone/remote. Just a idea for you! Its a Quality relay and component (P.S. I am also using the VAISTECH SEER PTS system to passively arm and disarm the CMX, it is a passive rfid system and push button start kit. Very, very customizable with its own software to tailor it around)
@JoelKSLC2 ай бұрын
@Hammer_2.2 , thanks. I didn’t know hella made a latching relay. I combined the timer and latching relay into a nice little project box. The latching relay I did find also consumes zero current when set or reset.

Disclaimer, in the video I ran the blower at 75, 85, and 100% duty cycle and the motor sounded nice and smooth. I played around with a lower duty cycle and what I noticed is a slight buzzing at 33-50% duty cycle. Right now I have low speed duty cycle set at 55% and seems ok. Not sure if this is the way I’ll go or take another approach. The output I’m using runs at 100HZ, there are 4 1000HZ outputs that may work better for this application, but they are tied to the reversing circuits for the front lift and parking brake.

The pump vacuum sensor is a 2 wire one wire goes to relay to turn pump off were does the second wire go? Or is not needed. This setup is going in a 67 camaro
@JoelKSLC6 ай бұрын
@jbdaytona7853 This vacuum sensor is three wire. A 5V power, ground, and signal. The signal goes to the pdm and the pdm turns on off the vacuum pump. I’ve seen two wire ones where one wire goes to ground and the other goes to the relay to turn the pump,on.

Joel hi couldn't we use belt driven hydraulic?? Any way to use it?
@JoelKSLC6 ай бұрын
@skatademirlidag That would be a lot more work, the steering rack is manual and custom built for this car. So you would need to fit in a new steering rack. Then you have the challenge of adding a power steering oil pump on the engine. So that would require engineering and fitting that into an already tight engine bay. This is far easier and I like the feel of the EPAS over hydraulic.

Im planning on using a AIM PDM32 soon too. For my time attack car. What was your reasoning for putting a remote start on what i assume is a racecar.
@JoelKSLC7 ай бұрын
Hi Dubble, I don’t plan on using the remote start capability. The Compustar will be used for door locks and powering up the PDM when I get in the car. I could easily have just wired in an IGN/Power switch but want it like an OEM street car. The other thing is, this will primarily be a street car.
@dubbleA1007 ай бұрын
@@JoelKSLC That's awesome a aim pdm in a street car! 🤣 Did you build your harness yourself or order one up? I'm looking to switch from switches and relays to the PDM when I do my roll cage install.
@JoelKSLC7 ай бұрын
@@dubbleA100 I purchased the AIM harness although it is pretty expensive for what it is. That gives you a starting point with all the wires pinned, but making that from scratch is not too hard. If you are looking for a heavy duty racing harness ready to go with connectors already attached take a look at the AIM harness made by trailbrake.com
@dubbleA1007 ай бұрын
@@JoelKSLC I'll take a look, I'm planning on doing a full chassis and engine club level harness with a little bit of pro stuff. Might do a few firewall bulkheads and some Tefzel wire. We'll see how far it scope creeps haha. I'm integrating a BMW ABS setup as well. I was also going to ask if you found boots to seal up the back of the AIM connectors, they're really big and since you bought their harness I'm assuming you didn't do that. Edit: oh I forgot about trailbrake, do you have their Tire pressure sensors?
@JoelKSLC7 ай бұрын
That sounds like a fun project. Wasn’t planning on boots since my PDM will be in the passenger compartment and really didn’t think about it. One thing about installing boots, if you want to de-pin something and modify down the road you would need to cut the boot off. I haven’t purchased the TPMS system yet, but planning on the trailbrake system with the external sensors. I already have my tires mounted and don’t want to pay to have the tires removed and rebalanced.

@JoelKSLC8 ай бұрын
It’s a bit of work for sure. Whenever you decide to make customizations things take a lot of time. If you build the car as designed with an LS 3 wet sump with manual brakes and steering it is considerable less work than my approach with the LT4, power brakes and steering.
