Bhupalam is called Bhupal Todi in Hindustani music. Just like you made a connection between Bhupalam and Shubhapantuvarali, Hindustani musicians also connect it to Hindustani Todi (same swaras as Shubhapantuvarali).

All the songs sung by her in films are great. All should have been mentioned. I love these few too. Songs sung with MKT ஐயா, என்னானந்தம், இங்குமங்கும், அந்த நாளும், கண்ணின் மணியே(இந்த இரண்டும் இராகமாலிகை) , கூவாமல் கூவும், பேரின்பமே, மோகனா ரங்கா போன்றவை. எனக்கு நனிமிகப் பிடித்தவை.

There are two very wonderful songs by MLV Amma in Malayalam (there are more, but I know only these two) 1. Kanne nukaroo swargasukham - music by Dakshinamoorthy swamy in the movie Sita (1960) 2. Odakkuzhalum kondodi varum - music by Devarajan master in the movie Chathurangam (1959) You should try listening to these songs. I am sure you'll enjoy them
